Caris LeVert: Two More Years!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Is LeVert back in 2023-24?

  • Cavs can't afford the $$$ to keep him and nothing is going to change that

  • After bricking shot after shot in the playoffs, Koby washes his hand and lets LeVert walk

  • Only if he signs for something close to the MLE

  • If Caris plays well in the playoffs, the Cavs will offer big $$$ to keep him

  • KobyAltman! No one else on the team fills his role, so stop sitting on your hands!

I had the thought last night that LeVert may be developing into a pg as he approaches 30.

Doubtful he can sustain it, but over the last 15 games Caris is 12th in the league in APG.

In that same time frame, he’s 9th in AST/TO ratio at 4.55:1 for guys playing 20 MPG or more. If you eliminate the guys that aren’t primary or secondary creators, he’d be 6th.

Have to give him some big props there, especially since the narrative for many people here still seems to be that he gets tunnel vision and is reckless with the ball.. Like I said, I wouldn’t expect him to be able to sustain that long-term, but he’s stepped up his playmaking when It’s been needed.

Is it just my impression, that once Don or DG pass the ball off to Caris, he never looks for them being open for a 3. Seems once they pass off to him he looks for his own shot or passes to a big when he can't get it. And Don or DG never get it back.

Anyone else notice that?

Have not noticed that…

Feels like there is a plan for LeVert going into the game. Sometimes the plan requires him to look for his own shot first, because Vert is gifted in creating his own shot one on one. Other times they ask him to be co-lead facilitator. He's currently averaging 5.3 assists per game, which is pretty darn good for a 6'6 swingman. He's improved in the past two years setting up the assist.

Levert plays hard every game against every opponent. Might sneakily be our hardest working player. Even his off nights he’s giving the most effort on the team. Never sulking his head after a missed shot or turnover just on to the next play. If everyone has this mentality we’d be a threat in the playoffs

The long stretches he plays without any breaks certainly don’t help things. I do think he plays very hard though. That’s one thing you can’t hold against him.

Is there any data on how often we come up with an oreb on his shots? I have a feeling it's particularly low
