Caris LeVert: Two More Years!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Is LeVert back in 2023-24?

  • Cavs can't afford the $$$ to keep him and nothing is going to change that

  • After bricking shot after shot in the playoffs, Koby washes his hand and lets LeVert walk

  • Only if he signs for something close to the MLE

  • If Caris plays well in the playoffs, the Cavs will offer big $$$ to keep him

  • KobyAltman! No one else on the team fills his role, so stop sitting on your hands!

Versus Pelicans, that is optimal LeVert. One of the guards in foul trouble (or otherwise absent -- in that game, Ricky was out altogether, refs jobbed Darius out of the game). Come in, move the ball, score within the offense. Make sure the bigs get going. Play some defense.

Maybe, like Okoro, his thing was not knowing what was "allowed" and also the anxiety of possibly being traded once again.
Exactly - with Rubio out and Garland in foul trouble and limited to 23 minutes against a strong opponent on the road that had won three straight LeVert stepped up when he was needed with 13 points, 9 assists (most of which resulted in uncontested dunks), 6 rebounds, and 2 steals.

CJ McCollum was 4-for-14 from the field and I think LeVert was checking him at least part of the time.

For 3.5 seasons before coming to Cleveland LeVert averaged 16-17 shots per game. This year he's averaging 10.7 in 31 minutes. He's been willing to change his game from a ball dominant point guard to a complementary sixth man type whose main job is 3-and-D.

His 3-point percentage is the highest of his career. He's been very unselfish about fitting in to this team and filling the role they need as opposed to staying in his comfort zone. Fedor says they want to extend him. He's not without flaws but he brings the kind of unselfish mentality and defensive chops they want on this team.

I love that levert is always moving with the ball usually going to the rim. It keeps him unpredictable and he makes some good things happen when he does. He's fitting in perfectly for this team.

caris rihgt there wiht okoro and arguably ahead of caruso...

fukn love this guy off the bench...

.cavs dont have a very good chance at teh ecf this year but trading levert for a second rounder back in november/december?...

they pretty much have zero chance

ive said it on a few occasoins here....

levert givng up offense for defense....willing ot come off the bench and gives two fuks about it in doing so....

in a contract year....at 28

i dont konw what the definition of ¨culture¨ is to the cleveland cavalier organizatoin but im pretty sure that caris levert is very close to being the embodiment of it..

Yes I totally agree that culture and character wise and in terms of his willingness to work to be whatever the team needs him to be, Levert has been fantastic. Makes me admire the guy on a personal level. The question is though, is a utility guy / 6th man / 3&D player who isn't really great at either volume 3 three point shooting or the "D" part of the equation really worth $19 million, which is what he makes today? And if we try to cut his salary to what he is worth, which IMO is well below $19 million, then how will he take it personally? And how does retaining him play into our ability to potentially sign a free agent who might fit our needs even better?

why are you worrying about tommorow?.....enjoy caris for today....

for all you konw he sings a 40/ three years....if you cant look at what i pointed out and not be thankful that caris is doing waht he is doing for the organizatoin...he very well couldve been a cancer when pulled form the starting five....then i dont konw what to tell you

he is what he is...an above average defender at 41/37....dont expect anymore and then you wont be disappointed....

not in the fukn very least under his current situation....

28 and contract year?..this is his best chance at getting paid and he accepted his role for the good of the team

love this fukn guy.....

Levert may have built his floor up as a player with how he has bought in. I think he has a resume of what he can be as a scorer. Add to that now that he seems willing to buy in and be a 3&D player, I think teams will look at that and be willing to throw some money on him to see if he can put the scoring, defense, and better 3 pt shot all together with more opportunities. I can understand not giving up assets to trade for him but giving him a contract more than the Cavs are willing to spend could be a gamble multiple teams will be willing to do.

I doubt Caris is so bought in to this culture that he passes up both more money and a bigger role/more touches on another team.

He needs to stick to at the rim and behind the line scoring. the midrange is certified dookie.

It’s really unbelievable that the last time Caris LeVert stepped foot in Boston Garden (prior to tonight) that he tossed in 41 points. Talk about an outlier.

He shot 45% and had 6 boards and 3 assists with 0 turnovers. He also had the highest +/- for any player on both teams at +11 with the next closest Cavalier being Garland at +1.

I get that he has some incredibly maddening misses. However, an awful miss still only counts as one missed shot. He was very effective tonight and the only bench player that bothered to show up.

I don’t think I’d even register him on the list of issues with tonight’s game.

He is starting to become Okoro-like in offense... I know he is consistent but his good offensive games are getting farther and farther in between...

Number of points in his last 7 games. 10 last night and 1 point in 26 minutes against the Bulls.
