Caris LeVert: Two More Years!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Is LeVert back in 2023-24?

  • Cavs can't afford the $$$ to keep him and nothing is going to change that

  • After bricking shot after shot in the playoffs, Koby washes his hand and lets LeVert walk

  • Only if he signs for something close to the MLE

  • If Caris plays well in the playoffs, the Cavs will offer big $$$ to keep him

  • KobyAltman! No one else on the team fills his role, so stop sitting on your hands!

He consistently misses wide open 8-10 footers in the paint. I think it's gotten into his head. He has been passing up those open jumpers in the paint recently - he's clearly lost confidence. He's now either driving to the rim for the contested layup (and drawing some fouls) or passing off to a big if the layup is contested. It's working out better than pulling up for a short jumper.

Three straight games where LeVert has been +11 to +13 off the bench, and with the way Cedi, Wade, and Rubio have been struggling lately LeVert has been huge. He's like a Swiss Army knife - he gets steals, blocked shots, rebounds, assists, and a few points while playing solid defense against opposing 1-3's.

I think he’s in his head on the mid-range.

He shoots on the way down or tries to adjust mid-air to account for some kind of awkwardness he’s feeling. Almost like he has the yips.

He needs to take the outside shot or drive and kick if there isn’t space to get to the hoop.

With that herky jerky style, maybe he fakes himself out on
the mid-range shots.

I've always thought he dribbles himself into rhythm and I wouldn't be surprised if the Cavs staff has tried to shorten that dribbling time so he doesn't eat the shot clock. I'm just not sure it can be something that can be fixed because it might be so engrained into how he has played through out his life.

I knew that he was very similar to Larry Hughes in his offense and wasn’t a fan of his offensive game at all when we traded for him. Who wants a two guard that can’t shoot a three? But I’ve really turned around on him because he is always hustling and is a good defender and can bring the ball up and set up other players. If his shot isn’t falling he still makes plays imo and has a good ball iq

We are going to need LeVert to be outstanding come playoff time. With Green, Cedi, and Wade frozen out, he is literally our only perimeter threat beyond DG & DM. He will have to play heavy minutes and good minutes.

If he would just cut out those horrible mid range shots…

He's taking those shitty midrange shots because we're telling him to.

He gets greenlight when our two studs are either not playing or not scoring well.

Caris is going to be at a little above a point a shot more often than not. They'll take that for certain lineups and situations.

Yes he's infinitely better at spot up shooting
