Caris LeVert: Two More Years!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Is LeVert back in 2023-24?

  • Cavs can't afford the $$$ to keep him and nothing is going to change that

  • After bricking shot after shot in the playoffs, Koby washes his hand and lets LeVert walk

  • Only if he signs for something close to the MLE

  • If Caris plays well in the playoffs, the Cavs will offer big $$$ to keep him

  • KobyAltman! No one else on the team fills his role, so stop sitting on your hands!

Its kind of incredible how flat Caris's shooting numbers have been through his career. His TS% has been between .509 and .531 every year since his rookie year regardless of his shot selection. He was hitting a very high percentage of midrangers in past years and seems to have replaced those makes with more 3s this year which should improve his efficiency ... but his TS% is still only .519 this season. I really like everything else he does for us on the court, but the shooting efficiency is straight out of 2003.

What an all around game by LeVert from defense to dunks to slashing to shooting… was against a weak opponent but these are such tantalizing flashes

He deserved the JYD over Cedi. He made the key plays at the critical point in the game, with the Hornets rolling and up 5 late in the 1st quarter. And he didn't just score, he played a GREAT all around floor game for the entire game.

His advanced stats from last night were off the charts. One of the most complete games of basketball I’ve ever seen from a Cavalier.

This guy is very likable for an old fart like me.

Seems like he’s always available this season and plays hard every game, even when he isn’t playing well. Guys like him, Okoro, and Stevens who bring it every game they play are very easy to root for. Hope he sticks around. Him being an Ohio kid makes me hope for that even more.

LeVert isn't great at anything but he's like 3rd or 4th best on the team in almost everything.

He's going to have stretches where he plays great. And stretches where you want to kill him.

Just don't get too high on him during the peaks. He is who he is. That isn't a bad player, it's just.. most players have good stretches and bad stretches.

I'd agree except that Cedi had clearly been in JBB's doghouse, and coming in that hot when he hadn't played meaningful minutes in awhile was huge. It may also have been sort of an implied apology/"welcome back" from JBB.

We're going to need both of those guys in the playoffs, especially with Wade not being playable.

LeVert at his best is one of my favorite players to watch.

He has quietly slid into that Draymond swiss army knife role during the second half of the season. And he has been doing it well lately.

If you don't like that short, here's a long of the same dunk, in the NBA's top 10 plays:

LeVert is a problem, and not in a normal way.

LeVert gives 100% effort every game and sacrifices his own stats for the team. Has been doing it all year. But LeVert is still a round peg in a square hole unless Garland or Mitchell is hurt and he starts at SG.

His skill set isnt best off the bench, he is awfull as a primary ball handler but ok as a secondary, his mid range game has become trash, and he doesnt always finish well making him pass sometimes when he should shoot.

He is very likeable though, plays well and is loved by the team, meaning, players, coaches and front office. But the fact he doesnt really fit in without an injury is an issue because he is a good player that could fit in better on a different team.

Like I said, LeVert is a problem, but its no fault of his own, he always gives the effort and does what the coaches ask, it will be interesting to see if they keep him, sign and trade him or let him walk. I really think we cant afford to let him walk, he has talent.

It seems insane to take Garland or Donovan off the ball to get Caris going, but they are both great catch and shoot players.

I dunno, seems like there is an opportunity to make him the playmaker while those 2 space to the corner and he can hit the big or them.

Why can't he get a rhythm off the bench? It is comical at this point.

I will say he is playing better with Rubio and you have to have Cedi in there to shoot 3's when Rubio and Caris are together

Also Caris just needs to shoot the 3 more. He is good at spot up shooting and it is like he doesn't realize

You beat me to it, Caris is very much a Swiss Army Knife type of a player, and he's just balling out lately. People forget he's a veteran, and to me it looks like he's ramping up to be ready for playoff basketball.

That should be around what LeVert should go for, especially if he continues this hot streak, and we might have to get close to 18/19 on the avg for 4 years……He brings more to the table then what Bogdan does.
