Contractually Obligated: Alfonzo McKinnie

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I said it the second he was claimed that he was trash. When your playing with Curry Klay and Dray life is going to be easy. It will also make scrub tier players look like maybe they have something here. But in reality they don't.

Yeah couldn't get playing time over a rookie. Got cut for Chriss!!!!

I'd play Wade or The other 2 way guy. Mckinnie will get some minutes with Porter out, but no reason to play him at the 4.

They released Cook as well. So Levi Randolph is the new 2 way player besides Wade. As to Cook...do they have to sign a 2 way guy to a contract before they waive him?

I think the idea is that he will very likely clear waivers because if you picked cook up, he gets a guaranteed NBA contract. If they waived him as a 2 way, you on;y would have to give him a 2way. Unless there is a trade we don't know about yet, this seems likely.

These moves do open up a 3 for 1 deal for Love, although I can’t think of a scenario where that would happen.

Cook doesn’t appear to have an NBA role, too small + can’t shoot or block shots. Not a good combo for a 6’9 big.

Randolph is trash.

Bolden doesn’t play much in the g league so is likely another Billy Preston.

Not sure what is out there but it would be nice to be a little more far reaching than just the form player from Canton. Miami found both Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn so they are out there.

Who the hell scouts for the G-League in Miami?

Lacob’s who’s like real life Dr. Manhattan came up with McKinnie while Nunn was on their affiliate.

Have you watched Randolph? I think he’s better than half the Cav’s roster. Right now I’d like to see a game between Canton and Cleveland. And most will think that’s nuts but the main difference between the two is one team has a guaranteed contract and the other doesn’t.

Yes I have seen Randolph, I wouldn’t make a judgement on a player I haven’t watched.

He’s not better than half our roster, he’s probably not even better than Mckinnie.. our NBA team would easily handle Canton Charge

IMHO, I disagree but that’s perfectly fine. I would love the chance to see Canton come in here and dress up in Pistons uniforms and play the Cavs and tell them that if they win they’re in the NBA. The whole attitude of the team is so much more fun to watch. Night and day difference.

Cavs clear another roster spot and have more money under the tax threshold. Are they getting ready to sign a FA and/or is a trade in the works and closer than we know?

Cavs have 2 roster spots and are 5-7M( est) under the tax threshold.

Brought him back on a 10 day contract. What do they see in him at all?

He doesn't have a sprained knee is why he is back I am pretty sure.

I also think they don't want to unnecessarily burn Dean Wade's 45 NBA days. I think they want the option to bring Wade up to the team and see if he is ready for the NBA when they know they have a chunk of playing time and a 15 man roster spot if necessary for him. That should open itself up after the trade deadline but they shouldn't want to risk being able to hold on to him just because the team has been hit with injuries.

Mckinnie can come in and fill in minutes for 20 days and hopefully Nance and KPJ are healthy then. It also gives Beilein the option not to play so small all the time. Mckinnie can play SG, SF, or PF, even though we have only primarily seen him at PF.

I mean or we could have signed literally anyone from the GLeague and they would likely have more upside. Or maybe sign the drunk guy in the 2nd row who also likely has more upside. Him knowing the playbook means nothing to me. Dude is trash.
