Contractually Obligated: Alfonzo McKinnie

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Finally have a back up SF

This was an expected and welcome move. No, he's not super talented but he should be a steadying influence on the floor. We are not very deep on the wing and he will help. Later in the season, maybe some rookies will earn minutes at that spot. But now the Cavs can wait until they actually EARN minutes instead of just giving them minutes.

Not impressed. Likely gonna end up stealing minutes from KPJ and Windler this season. Also he's not very good. We found ourselves Patrick McCaw 2.0 but older and more shitty then Patrick McCaw.

If he is worse than McCaw he won't get minutes ahead of even KPJ

Makes much more sense than Jarrel Martin imo, will probably play 10-15mins

Kinda like we just swapped end of bench guys with the Warriors. McKinnie for Chriss. Chriss did keep him from getting a roster spot.

Does that mean he is worse than Kriss?

Weird he's never won a championship.

Yeah but he got Klay's and Steph's DNA in his mouth when he sucked them off during a train in the locker room.

So yeah, he has Championship DNA in him.

He's a great story of overcoming adversity... but that's about it. Not really the kind of player I was hoping the Cavs would sign.
Big picture question. Is Gilbert health wise capable of following the team closely to the point where he would get involved in player moves like he has in the past? Do you think Altman will get the proper time to see the rebuild through?

Dan is all there mentally so it's probably business as usual with him. Altman won't rock the boat so he'll be here until he wants to leave.

Well statistically he is not that different than Cedi, except he was playing mostly garbage minutes on a very good team. He is three years older, a better rebounder, less effective at passing the ball.. So basically we signed a Cedi clone for cheap.. I am thinking they have seen enough from Porter to think he will take Cedis minutes by year end, and perhaps believe they can trade Cedi for something.. I don't see his age as downside. We already have a lot of kids.. Sexton, Garland, Porter, Zizic and Windler are all young, with Windler being the eldest of those...

Yet it still seems possible that he claims the starting SF spot by January. He can play "NBA replacement level" basketball, which is better than the Cavs got from the SF spot last year.
