Cavaliers Fantasy Trade Thread: 2020-21 regular season edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
How is that? It’s like a $28 million dollar exception! At the time they received it ESPN announced it was the largest in league history
Dre makes more than the exception is worth. Might be able to get creative and involve another team, but they can’t do anything straight up.

That’s not what they were saying on NBA TV.....they were talking like the trade exception and sending one player to Cleveland could make it work. It was all about Danny A wanting to part with an asset (something he has been reluctant to do in the past)

BOSTON needs to get Drummond they are going nowhere without him with all there draft picks they have not use them the right way if they were the Cavs the media would be all over our GM this is there last chance to make a move they only have 2 players that are good the rest are past there prime or average THE Knicks Nets Hornets Philly Will all be a better team..

Then NBA TV was wrong. You can’t combine a trade exception with a player.

As I said, they could probably get creative and add a third team, but there’s no straight up deal to be had.

There are several posters here who know more about the salary cap and trade rules than many of the commentators in the media. Some of the latter don’t bother with practical limits on trades because it affects their narrative or they just don’t care.

Skip Brainless signed for 4 years & 32 million and he doesn‘t know shit.

Cleveland gets: Terry Rozier & Malik Monk

Charlotte gets: Andre Drummond

Why? Cleveland gets something good for Drummond. Charlotte gets out of Rozier's guaranteed money for next season, making them players in free agency.

I've posted this trade idea before & I want your opinions on this. Rozier would be an excellent backup to Sexton. Money isn't an issue for the Cavs.

I don’t listen to word Bayless says. Actually it was Mark Stein who said but again he said along with the TPE there would have to be some player movement (and he mentioned Marcus Smart) to make it work

Doesn’t matter how many players they move around. The TPE isn’t big enough for Drummond, and it can’t be combined with a player.

I think they could take someone like Otto Porter into the TPE though, and then make a separate OPJ for Drummond trade.

Honestly though, I don’t believe the Celtics are actually interested in Drummond.

I personally think the Cavs should trade Drummond for players who are signed for longer deals & can contribute. We should definetly take advantage of the fact that we have the second richest owner in the league.

That said, don't do it just for the sake of doing it. This team is on the right path. There's only one ball on the court though.

What players fit this mold? I was looking @ Gary Harris but I doubt the Nuggets would be interested in Drummond.

That's great, in theory, but you have to have a team willing to give up contributors for Drummond. Not sure that combo of teams, players and need exists...

Best trade for Drummond. read this. If happen would be great.

Bulls get Drummond

Cava get Porter(exp), Hutchison, Chicago's 2nd 2021, 2022 1st and 2nd.

We can dream!

It also be be great if I won the lottery, which might actually be more likely than trading Andre Drummond for three draft picks.

Cleveland receives: Zach Lavine & Lauri Markkanen

Chicago receives: Andre Drummond (exp), '21, '23, '25 & '27 unprotected firsts & '22, '24 & '26 unprotected pick swaps

Buy out Kevin Love.

Why?

Cleveland gets some good talent in Lavine & Markkanen. Both are starters in this league. Markkanen still has potential.

Chicago gets the best possible return for their two stars.

Is this too much to give up for Cleveland?

PG: Collin Sexton / Darius Garland / Quin Cook / Matthew Dellavedova
SG: Zach Lavine / Dylan Windler / Damyean Dotson
SF: Isaac Okoro / Taurean Prince / Cedi Osman
PF: Lauri Markkanen / Larry Nance Jr. / Dean Wade
C: Jarrett Allen / Javale McGee

Those picks might be too much to give up for Brad Beal, let alone LaVine and Lauri.

It’s entirely possible all of those picks still wind up in the top 10 with that roster.
