Cavaliers Fantasy Trade Thread: 2020-21 regular season edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cleveland gets: Deni Avdija & Davis Bertans

Washington gets: Isaac Okoro & Taurean Prince

Why?

Cleveland swaps Okoro for Avdija, who is a better fit on this team. Bertans gives them a sniper from downtown.

Washington gets a defensive minded prospect that fits with their young core. Prince is a nice role player on a reasonable deal.

Cleveland gets: Fred Vanvleet & Malachi Flynn

Toronto gets: Collin Sexton, Darius Garland & Larry Nance Jr.

Why?

Cleveland upgrades their point guard position with Vanvleet.

Toronto gets a nice haul for their star.

Saw the Warriors might be interested in Cedi. Wondering if they would do a Cedi & Javale for Kelly Oubre trade. I would mainly do it to get off of the remaining 2 years of Cedi's contract, because Oubre's a UFA after this year and not sure he fits here anyway. If he and Collin both have their tunnel vision going, I don't know how anyone else on the team gets a shot while they're playing.

Denver is looking for big wings to take over the Jerami Grant role from last year. Prince & Cedi could be worth the shot. Unload Harris's bad contract for Prince's slightly better contract and Cedi has a pretty team-friendly deal.

Cavs get a 6'4 backup PG that could really complement both Sexton & Garland if he reaches his potential. Hampton has crazy athleticism, but hasn't played much this year for a Denver team trying to win now.

Except there's nothing in particular wrong with Cedi's contract; it's just that this team isn't very good right now and needs him do much more for that money.

Edit: don't know how "him" turned into "history", but whatever

It seems like Boston might want to get rid of TT. I wonder if they will do TT and Nesmith for Prince and McGee. There are rumors that Boston has interest in Prince. We get TT as our backup center at 9 million a year and could be flipped next year. Nesmith is a good young prospect.

What do people think about taking a flyer on Jabari Parker? I know he’s bounced around a lot from being the #2 pick in the 2014 draft. He’s only 26!
Before he came to Sac everywhere he was at he was always around 14 points and 5 rebs a game! What’s the deal with him?

He is bad. He has always been bad. That is it

What do you mean by bad? Except for this year in Sac every other place he’s been he’s averaged 14 and 5! How is that bad? Is he BAD in the locker room? Right now he could give us more than Cedi, Windler, Stevens and Thomas are giving us! Don’t just tell me he’s bad!!!

He scores in ways that are inefficient and is completely useless on defense. And all that is compounded by his recent injuries. He is a worse shooting Beasley at this point.

Thanks! That’s what I needed to hear. Especially the defensive part. I’m sorry but I hate just hearing people say a guy is no good without pointing out why “he’s no good”. The fact that he’s still in league means some people still feel he can play. But being a terrible shooter and defensive player is enough for me to say no as well

Technically, he's not :chuckle:

Oh he’ll get picked up. Somebody (especially a contender) will think they can get something out of him
I'm sure he'll get another chance eventually, but there's no way it's on a contender. It'll be a team like the Cavs that has nothing to lose by giving him a chance.
