Cavaliers Fantasy Trade Thread: 2020-21 regular season edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He's a combo guard. Every team needs a guy like him.
But he's a scrub. 4 years in the NBA and he's shot over 40% once, and the year he shot over 40% he was suspended for the rest of the year for violating the NBA drug policy.

Cleveland gets: Anfernee Simons & C.J. Elleby

Portland gets: Javale McGee

Why? Cleveland gets a good young prospect. Portland needs a big after their starting C Nurkic got injured.

Cleveland gets: Preciuos Achiuwa & Kendrick Nunn

Miami gets: Darius Garland

Why? Cleveland gets a combo forward prospect & a solid young player in Nunn. Miami needs a playmaker, their only point guard is an aging Dragic who is set to become a free agent.

If we pull this off, pat Riley needs to quit. They love Precious. 0 chance of this happening.

Thr Portland deal on the other hand I could see as a framework for something. Only problem is simmons sucks. Try to get Nas little or trent

Cleveland gets: Gary Harris & Dennis Smith Jr.

Denver gets: Kevin Love & Kevin Porter Jr.

New York gets: Will Barton

Why?

Cleveland acquires Harris, who I think is a great player. Smith Jr. might need a change of scenery.

Denver gets a talented player in Kevin Love & take a chance on Porter Jr. who has some off court issues ongoing but has alot of potential.

New York gets Will Barton, who they could later flip him for assets or keep him. He's pretty good.

Cleveland gets: Malik Monk & Miles Bridges

Charlotte gets: Darius Garland & Javale McGee

Why? Cleveland acquires a couple young players with potential. Charlotte could use a scoring guard next to Ball. Javale is there for salary purposes.

The Cavs are giving up the best player in this trade and getting worse in the process.

I'd take a free flier on Monk if he is a throw-in in a larger trade or otherwise extremely cheap. But centering a trade around Garland for Monk sets this team back significantly.

In honor of these posts, we should rename this “JJ_PR’s Dark Twisted Fantasy Trade Thread”

These are both awful for the Cavs

Since apparently no skill or sense is required, how about KJP and McGee to Orlando for MCW, Okeke and a future protected first?

Orlando gets a reliable big man and a lottery ticket powder keg, Cavs get a future first, a tall veteran sub minutes guard (exumish) and an injury recovery project with the right cultural attitude.

Id do it for two firsts and a pick swap

Cleveland gets: Aaron Gordon, Garry Harris & Will Barton

Magic gets: Andre Drummond & 3 '22 second round picks

Denver Nuggets get: Kevin Love, Al-Farouq Aminu & '21 protected first round pick (top 5 '21, top 5 '22 or '23 & '24 second round picks.

Why?

Cleveland adds some talent.

Magic could use another big.

Kevin Love would be a nice fit in Denver.

I do this if orlando is trading the picks...

Trade #1:

Cleveland gets: Gary Harris, Will Barton & Dennis Smith Jr.

Denver gets: Kevin Porter Jr., Frank Ntilikina & Javale McGee

New York gets: Andre Drummond

Why?

Cleveland gets some nice young players to add to their core.

Denver takes a flyer on Porter Jr. hoping his off court issues are overstated.

New York gets Drummond, who is in his prime & could serve as a mentor to Robinson.

Trade #2:

Cleveland gets: Aaron Gordon & Terrence Ross

Orlando gets: Kevin Love

Why?

Cleveland gets a big that fits their roster better. Ross is there for salary purposes but he can contribute.

For Orlando, they bank on Kevin Love returning to his old self.

Trade #1

Cleveland gets: Gary Harris & Will Barton

Denver gets: Andre Drummond & Javale McGee

Why? Cleveland adds a combo guard to their roster after losing Porter Jr. Barton is added to match salary but he's no slouch himself. For Denver, they get rid of two long term contracts in favor of expiring deals.

Trade #2

Cleveland gets: Aaron Gordon & Terrence Ross

Orlando gets: Kevin Love & a '21 first round pick (top 5 '21, top 5 '22, top 5 '23 otherwise '24 & '25 seconds)

Why? Cleveland could use a versatile power forward. Ross is there for salary purposes but he's also a contributor. Orlando gets a nice pick in exchange for Gordon & opens up minutes for their young players.

Trade #3

Cleveland gets: Dennis Smith Jr. & top 5 protected first via New York (top 5 '21, top 5 '22, top 5 '23 otherwise '24 & '25 seconds)

New York gets: Darius Garland

Why? Cleveland goes with Sexton as their future PG. They get good value out of Garland. New York gets their PG of the future @ a relatively cheap price.
