Cavaliers Trade Ideas: 2022-23 regular season edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That sounds unrealistic. Spurs just drafted 2 guards last night. After drafting one at 12 last year. And one the year before that at 11. I would love to get Murray. But it's a pipe dream and not realistic.
I’m just telling you what was said! And who’s to say the guards they drafted will pan out! Who would you prefer to count on?
A newly drafted guard or a proven 23 point NBA scorer. And they also mentioned Okoro! The Spurs ARE shopping Murray because they have acknowledged they are in a rebuild and Murray is their only real asset.

Seems to me the Spurs could get more for Murray than Sexton/Okoro and a pick.

Should we be trying for Kemba Walker as a backup PG? Detroit definitely won't use him, and his contract is like $9 million.

I would assume the player on our roster they'd want (that's available) would be Markkanen. They're guard heavy, so would make sense on their roster.

Lauri obviously isn't untouchable but I don't believe for a second he's currently "available" either, certainly not in a trade like this. Cavs would be giving up a ton of shooting/spacing, which they absolutely can't afford to do. Murray is a bad outside shooter.

Markkanen became one of JBB's most trusted guys last season and ended up with the 2nd highest net rating on the team. He's a lock to start at SF next season, flipping him at this point for Dejounte Murray wouldn't make any sense.

Young, athletic SF...you bet I'd be interested! That's right in our wheelhouse.
especially if that player could be had for a reasonable return. Putting this one on the list.

Rockets have a lot more intriguing prospects coming in and are now free of Wall.

I do this along with two pick swaps...

To round out the offseason:

resign Collin for 2yrs with a PO for year 3 at 20 per
QO for Good-Win

and go into the season with a rotation like this

PG: DG, DJM, Goodwin (35, 13)
SG: DJM, Sexton, Agjabi (18, 25, 5)
SF: Markk, Agjabi, Windler (25, 23)
PF: Mobley, Love, Markk (32, 8, 8)
C: Allen, Love, Moses (28, 10, 10)

I don't see an avenue to that making us much better, relative to what we would give up.

It would likely be something like Cedi + Okoro.

I think we get only marginally better (at best) and give up the youngest asset, even though I don't love Okoro.

I'd rather hang on to Okoro and see what else is out there during the season.

I'm confused because you have the Cavs trading for McDermott, but he wouldn't be in the rotation?

The Nets look like they are ready to blow it up and start over. Ben Simmons‘ trade value is at an all time low. LeVert, Okoro, Windler, and the next available first round pick for Simmons.
Simmons at 6’11” with Allen, Mobley, Markkanen, and Garland. Great Defense better create easy offense.
Guard rotation of Simmons, Garland, Sexton, and Agbaji.

No.
