I could see the cavs wanting a little bit more. Like a pick swap somewhere.

But I think this is a starting point realistically.

Why does everyone want us to bring Nance back? Yes he's a local guy but he demanded a trade and got it. He got what he wanted. When he got to Portland he talked about how nice it was to be in a more progressive city then Cleveland. Also this scenario makes us worse. What's the point in making this trade?

Nance made the money work in this deal. We need another big man for depth.

- Cedi is roster waste of space.
- Sexton is gone sooner or later.
- JV is legit 3P threat and is a fine replacement for Allen.

Our spacing gets better. We get more picks. We turn Sexton into something.

I'd follow this up with another trade to clear the SG/SF logjam.

JV isn't a fine replacement. Yes he can shoot better. But he's not anywhere near the defender Allen is. Trading Allen and not getting a significant piece that fits long term is terrible. This seems like making a trade for the sake of making a trade. Not a trade to improve the team.

I would trade shooting for center defense any day, with Mobley on the team.

Where are the Cavs gonna find a JV level shooter and Allen level defender? not happening.

I'll take shooting over defense every day of the week. We didn't have the guns last season to keep up with better teams.

JV level shooter? He's a better shooter but we really going to pretend his 0.8 threes made per game are that amazing? He hasn't really shown he can shoot 3s at a high volume. He's 6 years older then Allen. And the team was fine before injuries. Particularly Allen. When Allen got hurt the defense crumbled. Allens impact on the defense is much more important then you seem to realize.

Exactly! We would be getting the worse end of that deal and it doesn’t make us better. We don’t need a ton of draft picks and rookies anymore. We have a young core and now just need to let them play and grow together

Why are we getting the worst return in this deal? Trading an elite two way young allstar center for an older dinosaur that shoots 3s sometimes? Sexton for Harris I could be talked into but feels like a loss on value. Getting LNJ and a few picks back does not make this a good deal. If Koby does this shit, I will happily help him pack up his office.

I feel dizzy and nauseous after reading that…

If we are giving up Allen, either KD or Ingram better be coming back. A more realistic version of this would be us passing Cedi off for some random small contract (Nunn?) and minor draft compensation (a 2nd or highly protected 1st).

I’d LOVE to acquire Ingram. He’s exactly what we need at SF. I’d trade anyone on the roster, besides Garland or Mobley, to acquire him.

Ingram is pretty much a point guard. While I like his game and always have, he's a super high usage dude who would never come to the Cavs to play off ball and watch Garland and Mobley.

Ingram didn't come into the NBA as a point forward. He may have played that role in New Orleans, but, prior to a acquiring CJ McCollum, they didn't exactly have strong guard play. His Usage % is below Jaylen Brown & Jayson Tatum, but his Assist % is quite a bit higher. I don't see a forward being able to handle he ball and dish out assists as being a bad thing. The more well-rounded and versatile your team is, the better.
