Cavaliers Trade Ideas: 2022-23 regular season edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Half convinced at this point that Gambler is Harrison Barnes sock account.
just fukn stop already...if you are one of the clueless people who thouhght the cavs were an 8-10 and i was wrong saying the cavs were a 1-4 wiht sexton and another 3 ...get over it...ok?

you guys are acting like butthurt children ....saying stupid shit lke comparing harrsion barnes to travis outlaw and that a guy whose a 10 year career 45/38 is a "decent shooter"....trolling or simply inept at understanding basketball....completely irrelevant...ignore list level shit

thsi just last year.....is there any difference in value between a 29 yr old and a 30 yr old not coming off an injury?

just embarrasing the hate here....sad after you drink a couple beers and think about it...loser mentality type shit

Celtics loved him so much they decided to trade for 36 year old Al Horford (after only playing 26 games the year before). Horford makes nearly $10M/year more instead.

Get a grip man. People aren’t ‘haters’ because they disagree with you, and it’s odd you’re resorting to name calling over Harrison Barnes of all people. I think if the league really saw Barnes being that valuable, he would’ve been moved. At best he’s probably like a 7th or 8th guy in the rotation on a good team. Still not as good as Love though.

i think everyone that understands basketball agrees...the cavs dont need a two...they need a three....and they also dont need a 30mm bench four who has suspect health when the general consensus is taht 35 min/game mobely is going to be a special player

all things being equal ..in all liklihood the cavs arent goign to go to the ecf with either love or okoro ...add osman and stevens to that list as well...thats not an ecf team
Im going to respond to this seriously, but based on your last few posts it seems like you don't want to actually discuss your positions.

The Cavs need a 3 yes. If you can upgrade at the 2 without giving up too much, you should do that too. In my mind, there are 3 starting spots that are permanently locked: 1, 4, 5. Upgrades to 2 or 3, or any of the bench spots are a positive. If the best player we can get it GTJ, then we should do it, especially because he is a near perfect fit next to Garland.

Lets talk about Kevin Love. First, he is expiring this season, so his 30m cap hit does not matter beyond the length of the season. Second, he is coming off a season where he was a legit 6MOTY candidate and put up incredible numbers (22.6-11.3 per 75 poss on .594 TS%). That is All-NBA numbers on a per possession basis. Third, until we know for sure what we get from Och, Kevin Love is our best momentum shooter. He is also our 2nd best deep 3 shooter, best high post passer, and best low post scorer. He is overqualified for his current backup role and provides a ton of value in 20 mpg. Mobley playing 30-32 mpg should not stop us from putting Love out there in lineups without Mobley or lineups with Mobley. Playing time for either player is not a concern.

You have said several times this is a top 4 team if we get Sexton back but somehow we are not until we kick Love, Okoro, Stevens, and Cedi? I agree this is probably not an ECF team, but Harrison Barnes of all players is not solving that. We already covered Love above, so lets talk about the other three guys.

Okoro is the 2nd youngest player on the roster. He is our best perimeter stopper right now against guards and smaller wings. He has developed into a solid corner 3pt shooter. He has great instincts on both sides of the ball, is a willing passer with better vision than Sexton. We knew he was going to be extremely raw on offense. Is he a starter in the NBA right now? No. But as an 8th/9th man he works and has a role on this team as a PoA defender. Hopefully injuries do not force him into an oversized role this year.

Lamar Stevens is 10-12th man on our roster as currently constructed. He should be playing at most situational minutes in the playoffs as a body to put on bigger wings. During the regular season, he will be an important guy to eat minutes, step up in rotation mins, and cover the same big wings. He is not going to be the reason we fail to advance in the playoffs or lose games, although his defensive history suggests he may help us win a few.

Cedi is...Cedi. If Rubio can help us unlock that early season/Turkish national team Cedi from last year, then he can be a positive contributor. He went from a career negative player, to a positive role player in those months. Of course, he came crashing back down to his career numbers after that point, but he did have his moments. Either way, I dont expect Cedi to matter too much for our playoffs hopes as he is either going to be traded or glued to the bench.

maybe sacramento wanted more for harrison than he was worth?.....maybe they simply did not want kemba?.....since in all likelihood youre not a celtics fan.....brian scalabrine is a die hard celtics fan regardless of the fact that he won a ring with them...arguing with him about the celtics...and what the celtics want....is akin to arguing with darius garland that teh cavaliers are an 8-10 in the east and not a 1-4....obvous what teh outcome of that conversation would be in both case scenarios.....and most of the celtics organization RE the horford trade was more about getting rid of kemba than getting al

al horford on the block at the trade deadline.....

just stop, ok?.....i understand basketball.....clearly.....its over...move on and be constructive...we both agree that the cavs can go deep if both garland and mobely can make the leap....lets leave it at that.

I'll give this one last go, but in no way is a player on any team an objective source on how good they are. Of course Garland thinks we are an ECF team. Of course Scal thinks Boston is the best team in the league. Heck, TT thought we would win the East AFTER Bron left. I am going to lean towards all the analysts who use math, video evidence, and their own experience. We have a lot of those on this site who are great at what they do, and consensus is as constructed Cavs are not a top 4 team in the East.

Its seems that you are not interested in actually discussing the statistics or analysis that has been brought up repeatedly in this and other threads and would rather just assert your expertise. If you have such a great understanding of basketball, why not show us why we are wrong?

Yeah, but all the experts were wrong last year. I wouldn't be surprised if they were a top 4 team in the east, but the east got better, so a slip is also possible. I expect the team to be better no matter what. If the team is not better, our "big 3" aren't who we think they are.

Analysts get it wrong. Players get it wrong. Vegas gets it wrong. The only logical conclusion is that someone on this forum has the exact right opinion about how the Cavs will do this year, which is knowable information based on few, if any, variables.

Wild predictions thread had some really dead on predictions about last year. Need to start a new one.

woj and lowe are claiming that it was a top 10 protected and a 2nd for barnes last year....woj giving reason that sac migthve been the team that elected not to go through with it

I still wouldnt give up a first for him today...

Cleveland receives: Andrew Wiggins
Golden State receives: Lauri Markkanen, Cedi Osman & Dylan Windler

Why?
Cleveland fills the void @ small forward.
Golden State gets a nice stretch big that can play the 5, a good role player in Osman & they save a considerable amount of tax money.

PG: Garland / Rubio / Neto
SG: LeVert / Agbaji / Okoro
SF: Wiggins / Stevens
PF: Mobley / Love / Wade
C: Allen / Lopez
Coach: J.B. Bickerstaff
