Cavaliers Trade Ideas: 2022-23 regular season edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Mobley isnt better at the 5. He would break if you made him battle Jojo and Jokic 7 games a year.

If you traded Allen Mobley becomes the only plus defender in the starting lineup and is guarding the whole court. Great way to fuck up your potential superstar before he’s even gotten started

This one is too ridiculous for real life obviously, but ill post it anyway because I've spent the last two days thinking about it.

It's basically mental gymnastics to get Cam Johnson and Luke Kennard in some way.

More simply it's:

Cleveland out:
cedi
okoro

In:
kennard

Out:
levert
wade
stephens

In:
johnson
ross
okogie

For us it's about getting Johnson and Kennard with every remaining tradable rotation piece we have. Sucks to lose our depth, but we get two dead eye shooters to really supercharge the offense. Ross can be kept or let go.

----------
Miami out:
robinson

In:
levert

Miami clears the Robinson contract (who fell out of their rotation) with LeVert who actually could really fit their hand off style play. Maybe they keep him.

-----------
Phoenix out:
johnson
okogie

In:
stephens
wade
okeke

This is the biggest stretch. I'm assuming the Suns wouldnt want to pay big dollars to Johnson next year, so they take in three super cheap players for him who can actually crack their rotation and play actual meaningful minutes, to increase their depth. Okeke and Stephens have two years left.

----------
Orland out:
ross
okeke

In:
robinson

Orlando gives up Okeke in this one, but they have a lot of 3/4s on the roster already so can bank on turning Robinsons form back to when he was a premier shooter piece in the league and compliment their young roster.

----------
Clippers out:
kennard

In:
cedi
okoro

Clippers get two cheap pieces for Kennard who is falling out of their rotation and has three more years left on his contract. Cedi and Okoro can be kept for roles or not brought back to give them money.

I doubt the Magic trade Okeke for Robinson.

Am I the only one that thinks Melo would be an interesting addition to this team as it is constituted right now?
He's still a very good 3-point shooter.
The guards could drive, lob to the bigs, or dish to Love or Melo for a 3. Pretty good options.

Less exciting move, but I'd see what it takes to pry switchable forward Kenrich Williams from the Thunder.

He only makes 2 million this year, then it rises to a 4 year, 27 million deal until 2027. They will want a asset in return, but I think he would be great as a Cav.

Love this idea. Kenrich is one of the most interesting role playing forwards in the league right now. A solid defender and can do a lot of good stuff on offense, moves the ball, high IQ guy. And his metrics are really good despite the garbage he plays with

The Thunder love him, but they are still tanking. With Sam Presti, everything is a available for a price.

I'm guessing windler and a 2nd isn't enough. I would probably give up a lottery protected 1 for him

I'd do Okoro for Bazely and Kenrich straight up. Two birds in hand is worth one in the bush.

Thats too much for me I think. I still like Okoro's upside and I dont not trust Baz at all. I defer to @KevinLoveFan, but the recent reviews have not been good
Oh yeah. You guys don't want Baze. He's a poor man's Anthony Randolph. Can't shoot, can't finish, has no handle, can barely board. He can block some shots, but that's about it.

The Thunder have Dort. Neither team would be likely to make the trade. The Cavs called on Kenrich last season. I wonder if they offered Sexton.
