Cavs draft workouts

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It’s being reported that De’Andre Hunter has only worked out for Atlanta. One could surmise that the Hawks gave him a promise. Now that there are rumors circulating that Hunter could go before their pick, he may well be the true object of their attempts to trade up, not Jarrett Culver.
Then they would have to trade to 5 with the Cavs because all signs point to Garland going 4. How bad do they want him? I'd do 8 & 10 for 5 and 26 as stated above by Q tip. Then use the JR contract to get 13. That sets you up with a helluva young core to go with Sexton.

And a HC used to coaching players that age

And you still have cedi nance zizic. And thompson. Clarkson delly henson to trade near the deadline for more assets

My prediction: Cavs end up taking a SF/PF at 5: Hunter,Little,Doumbouya or trade down and take Okeke or Williams.
They will make a trade to get into Herro,NAW,Nowell or Langford range
and will probably be targeting Claxton,Kabengele or Gafford at 26.

Here’s my predictions:

1) Cavs take De’Andre Hunter at #5.
2) Cavs take Ty Jerome at #26.
3) Cavs trade JR Smith for an expiring contract and two draft assets- a 2nd round pick this year and a protected 2020 1st.
4) Kevin Love is not traded.

Hunter falls out of the top 10

Not a chance! He goes between 4-8. I am 100% certain of that. In fact, I’d be surprised if he fell past the 5th pick.

Everything hangs on if NY doesn't take Barrett in favor of Garland or Hunter who both could be reasonable options for them if they are not punting on the season and expect to sign a couple FA trying to hurry up their rebuild.
I think it is not out of the question for Barrett to fall to 5 but only if Hunter goes 3 and somebody offers more for a chance at Garland at 4 than someone's offer for Barrett at 4.
pretty much unlikely Barrett falls to 5. But definitely a chance Cavs could move up a spot to get him which I do not discount as an option since he was the main target of the tank

I would be more Dissapointed in the cavaliers then I have ever been if we end up with RJ Barrett tomorrow. Dude is not going to be succesful in the NBA.

RJ is going 3rd. My fear is Koby Altman is so infatuated with Barrett that he is going to try to make some silly trade offer the Knicks couldn’t possibly refuse. Kid is very overrated IMO

We're not really going to know if Barrett and some others are overrated for a couple of years.
My sense is just that, these kids are not finished products and some are going to have some good careers.

RJ Barrett is a ball-dominant chucker, who shot only 30% from the shorter, college three-point line. Do you think he’s going to be able to shoot that well from the longer NBA three-point line?

With him I do not know.
I say that because it's not impossible for his shot to improve as many a NBA player has improved their technique and/or learned to develop a mid range jumper or become more of a slasher.
You've watched enough ball as I have to know players who want to excel and have that fire in them ,will work on their game and develop.
Is that him?
I can't say , nor am I pimping him. Already said who I would target .

Look, I’m not saying Barrett is going to be a bust. He’s a similar type of player to James Harden, albeit not on that level. I’m just don’t feel that he’s a great fit with Collin Sexton.
