The Cavs have signed former ATL PG Isiah Taylor to a 1 year contract.

Another IT...can't be any worse than the last one!! :coolugh:

He’s what you find when you google “Replacment Level Point guard”

Move over, London Perrantes.

Interesting that your two year career in the NBA is basically highlights from one game. In this one game he looks a little like Sexton, with a quick first step and handles in traffic. His numbers are not good at point, but he is actually a little plus at shooting guard. We all of a sudden have a log jam at guard. JR is gone for sure and perhaps Hill.

One year non guaranteed contract. Basically a camp invite

They must have thought more highly of this guy than "Smoochie" (SP?). Hopefully he works out better than last year's IT. So far Altman has impressed with an I for talent, so maybe this guy will stick?

I watch a ton of NBA across the league mainly so I can play decent Draftkings lineups... I liked Taylor last year as a super cheap option whenever it looked like he would get time. Young kid, plays with a lot of energy and actually shoots the 3 ball pretty well. I like this pickup if we’re trying to go into rebuild mode, but playoff mode is a little strange as he’s still a couple years away development wise to truly help a contender.

Seems like the third string at this point - which is weird if they think he can develop into anything. I'm not sure he can. Doesn't appear to be a good defender. Looks like that emergency backup that might be able to provide some spark.

Might be a bit of try out to see if he, Scoochie, or someone else could be a legit backup PG. If Sexton comes along and plays 30 a night then that opens the door to trade Hill to someone that either wants to clear some cap space next year or wants a vet for a playoff push - or both. Not sure Taylor is that backup. There are things Scoochie has done that makes me think he could develop into a decent backup, but he still has some work to do too.

Given the current roster, seems like Hill and Sexton are the only guards guaranteed a spot in the rotation and they might end up playing next to each other for real minutes. That means there could be playing time available for any guard that plays like they care. And on the outside chance that both Jr and Rodney show up playing like thet want to be here, the cavs can always send him to Canton and call him back after the trade that we all expect to happen.
