Cavs Trade Joe Harris to Orlando

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Bummer they couldn't get more of an asset, but kind of impressed they were able to move a dude who pretty much won't play this year.

Also, this basically guarantees we're using the TPE then, eh?

Eh, hard to say. I mean, it puts us in a position to pounce with the TPE or later in the buyout market. But the roster is already pretty full and talented an the TPE can also be used around the draft and into FA. So I don't think that it's a given that we use the TPE.

Although, if we do anything less than 3-1 on this roadtrip, I'd expect the board to insist that we have to use the TPE and that if we don't we're conceding the championship.

Blazers 2020 second round pick (protected top 55)

Could they be keeping the spot open with an eye on the waiver wire? Still think it's hard to believe, but maybe Joe Johnson?

Sorry Joe, not even getting injured could stop the Cavs from getting rid of you.

Pretty sure the 2017 pick(from Scaramento) we sent out was also top 55 protected.

In other words, neither of these picks will be actually gained/used by the Magic or Cavs. They were just mechanisms for the accounting of the trade.

Yup. I am just glad we didn't have to give up anything other than "cash" to get rid of him.
