kidd = hall of famer
mcinnes = hoping for a contract

jefferson has outplayed lebron in every meeting this year

kristic = a young z with good feet

carter since coming to the nets has been > than lebron.
carter is a shooting guard and we don't even have a shooting guard.

the nets are the better team and have better players.

Krystic isn't a young Z with good feet. Krystic is young and has potential. Z is 7'3 and is a monster. No basis for comparison yet.

However, they have us outmatched at the SG/SF. Sure, LeBron can do anything on the offensive end, but if he doesn't cover his man (Vince or Jefferson) then we're screwed. Too many backcourt weapons for us to handle.

But our frontcourt is stronger. Gooden is a potent scorer, he's just a liability on offense.

The Nets also lack a good bench. Injuries and general lack of talent.

What they do have is leadership, cohesion, and a drive. They play team ball with Kidd at the helm, him being the model that every PG should follow: great leadership, court vision, and defense. He has the right to call out people for their mistakes because he'll break a sweat for anything. We have McInnis at the helm. Enough said.

Plus with all of the conspiracy theories going around right now .. which team would get better ratings? LeBron and a team of nobodies or Kidd/Vince/Jefferson?

In actuality, DDJ, I think that LeBron making the playoffs would make more media hype than NJ coming back froma crappy season. LeBron is a trademark now. If they make the palyoffs, everyone will watch the first playoff games of the next best thing in the NBA. No doubt.

People see NJN going in, they already have seen Kidd play, Carter, Jefferson, and they've seen them fail. They would prefer to see LeBron, I would think

Even though this is from a Cavs fan, I believe it to be true: everyone loves LeBron

I suppose you're right, but it just seems that everyone in the national media (and even some fans at this point) want our team to fail. It angers me beyond belief.

Everyone says that they're on some huge momentum swing, but if we won the next 2 games .. we'd be on a roll of our own.

Well, Nets up 21 at the half... Its not over yet, the Wizard can still come back :(.

Wizards only down by 10 4 minutes left in the 4th!!! ITS GETTING CLOSE, WE HAVE A CHANCE!

well the wiz game them a fight but couldnt pull it out at the end. crap.

wiz r garbage, won't even make it out of 1st round

Well, its come down to game 82.... The most important game of em all... A win over the Raps and hoping for a loss @ Boston... Nets on a 4 game winning streak, which isnt good.

This is it! Lets go Cavs :D.

am i the only one really scared that boston pulled its starters for this game. I mean if rivers pulled them for this game why wouldnt he againist the nets.

i truthfully cant see the celtics beating the nets tomorrow.

but all we can do is hope

We need a little bit of help from the Celtics. But of course we got to take car of tose Raptors first.

If we lose and Nets lose.. I will be very very P/O!

Apparently the Celtics - Paul Pierce in particular - and their fans are not too happy with the Nets right now. This is because of a game on April 9 when the two teams played and NJ won a blowout. Boston was unhappy that NJ continued to play starters in the 4th quarter (the quarter began 85-63 NJ, and NJ had led comfortably the entire game) and that they were out there lobbing alley oops and basically showing up Boston when the game had already been decided (in Boston's opinion).

If true, Boston will have plenty of incentive to play hard and knock NJ out of the playoffs. Besides that, Boston doesn't want to go into the playoffs on a losing streak, even a small one. They stumbled in last year losing 5 out of 6, and were promptly swept in the first round.

Toronto would much rather see us in as well, since there is such a deep dislike there now for VC. I'm not saying they'll tank on purpose, but I don't think they want to knock us out all that badly either. I expect them to give just an average effort in this one, but the Cavs still need to go out and get the job done.

Isn't it ironic that Toronto was the team that closed our playoff hopes last season? It's almost deja vu, but not quite there yet.

Bottom line, tommorow we are on the road. Toronto's final home game of the season. This could very well end up being a 41-41 night for both NJ and the Cavaliers. :(
