So Iggy continued his great shooting against the Cavs. Shot 53%

However, he shot 33% from the line. How in the hell did we not do hack an Iggy?

The same thing that killed us in 2015. We waited far too late to put him on line.

He has a way of hitting fts against us

He shot 36% from ft in 2015 as well.

What he does do is hit open jump shots against us. However, 2 of the last 3 years he's been abysmal from the ft line and we never send him there. Could have easily stalled their 2nd Qrt run and could have stalled their 6 point lead in the 4th Qrt.

If worried about fouls I would have brought Frye in for offense and had him use up all 6 fouls on Iggy as well .

That's the difference between rich paul and guys that bought in.

As much as we overpaid Jr and TT, it's also on the front office and scouting Dept for letting Rich Paul have all the leverage in these situations. If we had any player waiting in the ranks Rich Paul's leverage would have been way less. I know the LeBron factor was a part of it but the number of years on the contracts and escalators might have been alot different if you have young guys that are developing.

I'm pretty sure they did all they could man. You have a hustler trying to build a career and he's got Lebron backing him.

Good luck.

If I remember the TT hold out correct, Mozgov was coming off a offseason knee scope and wasn't ready for the beginning of the season. They didn't go out and sign any other big men in free agency, I don't even think a d-leaguer. It got to the preseason and the front office decided it had to have TT back to start the season because they didn't have anyone who could play center. The Big man rotation was going to be just Kevin Love. They backed themselves into a corner. They needed another big man regardless, they ended up trading for Channing Frye during the season. A cheap playable Big would have helped the whole TT situation.

As for JR, they thought they had Shump waiting but we all know how that worked out. I think they tried to put themselves in a much better situation with JR regardless. It harder finding young 3 and D wing talent than finding young PF/centers.

Theoretically speaking, if we trade Love for PG13 and get Melo for scraps and sign a solid starting center, will we be favorites in Vegas next year?

For example:

Kyrie
Melo
PG13
LeBron
Bogut (Healthy)

Iggy reportedly resigning for 4/48 while we get mugged on every contract renewal.

He will be pretty close to 34 once the season begins. That probably plays into it, plus paying an old guy like that is a move for a contender since you'll get the most value the first part of that deal... and what teams are close to that...

ZERO chance. None.

Now, if the season unfolds and LeBron is himself (basically a +8 player), Melo turns back the clock, PG13 plays efficiently and goes back to lockdown defense since he's not the first option anymore, Kyrie makes a leap to a top 7 type of player (+6 or better as a player), and Bogut is himself from last year, then this would be a 65+ win type of team and would maybe get a 30-70 chance in Vegas if playing a fully healthy GS team.

Well, $12 million a year for the 6th man is more than the Cavs are paying for their sixth man (Shump).

Warriors are also going to have two players in the $30 million range, one more than the Cavs.

That's right around JR/Tristan money for a guy who will be a corpse at the end of that contract...

That's pretty much right in line with what the Cavs have paid their guys and he doesn't even start.

That's a pretty significant amount less than Tristan. Id have loved Tristan at 4/48.

But that Iggy thing is just pure speculation.
