I read in the paper he pitched 1 and 1/3 innings and gave up 7 runs or something.

He said he isn't ready to pitch in big games thus why he pulled out of the WBC.

But apparently he isn't ready to pitch in any type of game. Sounds to me that he came into camp with a badly out of shape body. And if last years keg is considered good shape..

He must look like Charles Barkley out there.

I saw a recent clip of him and he did look like he wrapped a monster truck tire around his waist.

Its spring training, all he did was throw fastballs and then he ran. I have absolutely no concerns about c.c.

The first like 10 starts he had last year were awful he got bounced around like a pinball. Then he seemed to have got into a little shape and pitched awesome...why doesnt he get in shape to be our Ace for a full season not just the 2nd half.

You should have concerns about CC, he is the ace of this ball club when he is a #3 at best..

Your so full of it bro. I know you dont like C.C. because of his weight and what not but he is not a #3, that is just idiotic. Yes last year he didnt pitch that great but a #3 come on bro. How is a #3 but he goes to the allstar game???

cc should go put his yankees hat on and learn to pitch against backups before he plays in a real game...

15-10 4.03 ERA

11-10 4.12 ERA

13-9 3.6 ERA

13-11 4.37 ERA

17-5 4.39 ERA

Im looking and somehow, I am not finding pitching stats that are better than a #3.

Lee is our best pitcher...CC will continue to be a scrub til he works on his game. He has been the same exact pitcher he was as a rookie.

He isnot a #1, not even close to it. He has pitched his career like a #3 and his stats show that.

And yet the two stat lines of

14-8 5.43 ERA
18-5 3.79 ERA

do make up a #1 starter? Maybe its just me, but those look awful similar to years 1 and 3 of Sabathia...

A career #3 pitcher, who just happens to have more wins at his age than any active player. Ignore that though. Say that he pitched on good teams... oh wait. As I remember, three of those teams had losing records, so its not that. He actually has 17% of those teams TOTAL wins over that period (69/407), comparable with players like Clemens, Martinez, and Halladay... only he is doing it at an age younger than they are. But because he isn't dominant all of the time, people whine and complain while not looking at the fact that he is 25 years old!

Also, whoever was complaining about his first outing of the spring, get off it. Westbrook had a bad outing, Byrd had a mediocre outing. At this point in spring batters are WELL ahead of pitchers. If we get to the end of spring training and he is still giving up seven runs every two innings, then it is worth discussing... but right now? Pitchers right now are throwing 80-90% fastballs just to test their arms.

I went through this same thing last year....and he bombed once again.

CC just isnt that good. If he was a right hander, we wouldnt be having this discussion. But because he is left handed, people want to ride out this Ace thing with him.

It's not going to happen. He is lazy. He gets fatter every year when we tell him to lose weight, and he never does.

Who's numbers are those fundamental? Lee? I believe Lee is a much better pitcher than CC, never said either was an ace though so Im not too sure where you are going with that.

CC is solid, but he is nothing more than a #2 at best.

Yeah but the reason he pulled out was because he couldn't pitch to a tee ball team right now. Showing for one that he wasn't deserving of an invite because he sat around with his hand in a bag of chips all ofseason got off the couch and said he wasn't going to play in the WBC and went back to bed..

Fatass... I can't stand him..

See...LePip knows what he is talking about.

Pitchers don't need to be in shape. They live in Cleveland, they'll put up a few pounds. Him, Wicky, and Tractor...
