Cedi Osman has been named into the national team of Turkey for the Eurobasket 2022 in September:

He should also play in Team Turkey during the World Cup qualifier games in late August.

Do you think Cedi will still be in the rotation next season and part of the Cavs? Maybe because he is one of the few, if only true wings on the roster? – William F.
While last season, the Cavs kept their rotation to about nine or 10 guys, I think there could still a place for Osman in the rotation. Osman is in the third year of his contract, worth $7.4 million for the 2022-23 season. He has one more season following on his contract, but the 2023-24 season is non-guaranteed. It would become fully guaranteed in June 2023.
Osman struggled with consistency last season and there were a couple of games where he did not play in the latter half of the season. He finished the season averaging 10.7 points per game in 22.1 minutes per game – his second-lowest average minutes in his five-year career. He shot 43.3 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from 3 while dishing out two assists per game and grabbing 2.2 rebounds.
Yet, Osman expressed in his exit interview back in April that he believed overall, “it was my best season so far.” He thought that he had found his role with this group. I think Osman can have a place in the rotation if he can show more consistency in his shooting and overall game to earn those minutes at the three.

Cedi Osman highlights from last nights match Turkey vs Georgia (that is the nation of Georgia, not the state of Georgia; stating this because it for some reason tends to confuse people from USA there actually is another Georgia, which rest of the world is much familiar with than the similarily named state in USA :) ).
EDIT: Seems this video has been removed.

Looks like he is trying to attack the basket and protect the ball with his body. His finishing has been terrible even in transition because he often gets bumped or swatted.

Cedi is a tough guy to figure. He has lots of talent and can get hot as a blowtorch, but he makes so many stupid mistakes and can't defend despite it being his original calling card.

I keep going back and forth on whether they should trade him. He really only needs to get 3% better, but he isn't young anymore

Turkish Velvet will not stick. I will not allow this, I don't care how feathery his hair is.

looks great against a team full of slow *removed* euros. in the NBA, they stay in front of him and he turns into cedi the spaz

Mod edit - Let’s leave skin color out of the conversation please.

Turkey vs Greece, Cedi scored 17 points. Greece without the injured Giannis won 89-80. Highligts of the match:

EDIT: And this video too seems to have been removed from Youtube

In terms of Cedi being a “wing…”

If you can’t defend anyone in the NBA then you don’t really have a position. Wing? I don’t think he qualifies.

Turkey loses 85-111 to Latvia.
Cedi Osman had the most minutes of all (27:53) with 15pts 4rbnd 3asst (Porzingis for Latvia had 22/14/3).

Alperen Sengun pretty much single handedly succeeded to lose the game for Turkey, he played 14 minutes and succeeded to gain -28 in that time; how the heck is he a PER16 NBA basketball player?

Cedi's nickname should be Tryptophan, because he can be helpful in small doses, but can put you to sleep if you have too much. #TurkeyJoke

Inspired by the Delly Trey, a Cedi 3pt should be referred to as the Turkey Club due to the three slices of bread found in the classic turkey sandwich.

Highlights from the Thursay match Latvia vs Turkey, you can see Cedi there in a few of the highlights :)

Tomorrow Turkey gets a visit from Serbia, as Team Serbia with Jokic et al arrives in their desperate attempt to clinch a World Cup slot. This is a must win for both teams, because the loser is guaranteed to miss World Cup next year.

Cedi had a good game vs Porzingis led Latvia, but Sengun singlehandedly destroyed the game for Turkey (I don't know if he was drunk or stoned or having a heart-attack, but Sengun was in no condition to be on the field; a pair of shoes on the field would have been better both on defense and offense rather than Sengun being there "playing"). Meanwhile Jokic and Serbia had a monster game vs Giannis led Greece, in a match where Giannis scored 40 for Greece to drag it to OT, but eventually Giannis ran out of gas and Serbia took home the win, to keep up the hope for Serbia to get to World Cup.

A desperate match for both teams, they absolutely need a win if they want to be playing with the big boys next summer in World Cup. Cedi very likely again will have very high play-time (on Thursday Cedi had most played minutes of all players of either team in the match). I don't know how Turkey will stop the Joker, perhaps Sengun wakes up from his hibernation? Anyway, Turkey has to rely on Cedi having a good game, both as a faciliator and shooter, otherwise Turkey will be stomprolled.
