Channing Frye

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Edit: sorry I didn't see your latest post before. I don't know how to move my post.

If next offseason comes and goes and he fails to bring in another star then I will agree with you. I think it's premature to say that stars don't want to play with him (besides Kyrie, and depending on what happens in Boston, that may have been more of a Kyrie problem than LeBron."

I don't like the Lakers at all, and I like their fans even less. I'll watch some their games to watch LeBron (besides the ones that start at 11 pm eastern time), but I'm not going to be invested in the team. At this point I just want to see LeBron beat the scoring record.

You're fine, this can be the last post on the matter. I appreciate your ability to at least have a civil, for the most part, discussion on the topic in the first place. All thumbs up from me. Now back to Channing aka the GOAT/glue that holds us together.

He and Korver would be quite the trade package. They could upgrade the outside shooting of almost any team. If nothing else, they would upgrade a young locker room.

Unless a trade comes along with real assets in return, I'd rather keep them both.

Frye mentoring Nance and Zizic on how to space the floor as a big on offense, and Korver helping Cedi and Sexton with off the ball movement and shooting.

Yeah, no thanks. Frye stays. I don't care if a team were offering something for him, he shouldn't have been traded last year.

At any rate, I doubt we signed the dude just to immediately trade him. It's pretty clear he's here both because he's very good friends with Love and because they know he's a great locker room presence to help mentor our young players. I get why they traded him last year, because he's just not effective against the Warriors and we didn't really need him to get through the East, but now that he's back it's clear he's embracing a mentorship role and we should allow him to do just that.

No reason for him to sign here if the team wasn't planning on keeping him. Dude surely had a few other suitors.

Rather have Jefferson in the broadcast booth than as a player. He's done.

He also went on to say that it's harder for big men to get on western conference teams than Eastern conference teams. The west wants wings more than anyone else so he said coming back to Cleveland made more sense for him. He know he will have a chance to get minutes and carve out a role with the Cavs. He just didn't see those opportunities with LA or other western conference teams. He also said he talked to the Raptors.

This is going to be the best worst season ever. Cleveland is doing the right things this time, and I can only hope it pays off in the long run.

I think it is going to be fun. Channing had a chance to go to Toronto, but chose Cleveland. I think that is great. he really wants to be here, and i think the team is going to be scrappy and fun.

Players like Channing and RJ having an affinity for the Cleveland area and Cleveland fans says a lot about our potential for landing free agents in the future.

A lot of posters around here just mindlessly repeat the ESPN byline on Cleveland, but the truth of the matter is that we have fantastic facilities and amazing medical support. These sorts of things get around the league, and players eventually realize that such things can go a long way toward prolonging their careers.

The only talking heads that shit on Cleveland are the non-players. Jalen Rose, Shaq, Charles Barkley and many others continue to say great things about Cleveland and the Cavs' organization. It's the lazy sports journalists who live in Boston or LA or some other big market who default to saying bad shit about Cleveland.

Counterpoint: no, it doesn't. They still have to come to Cleveland first, and Channing came back because he had a good experience and a friend on the team. He actually has a connection to the city/franchise. He's an outlier compared to other free agents.
