Maurice Clarett has agreed to a plea bargain that will send the former Ohio State football star to prison for at least 3 1/2 years.

Clarett's deal with prosecutors in Columbus came today as jury selection was set to begin in his robbery trial.

The plea covers that case and another that arose out of a police chase last month that ended with officers finding four loaded weapons in his vehicle.

What the heck is the deal with Clarett??? What a fool. Maybe he got pissed when his NFL dreams fell thru. But to do the stuff he has done is on him, and he's gonna pay the price. (anyone know exactly the charges filed against him? I know he's been in touble with the law multiple times.)

I know Bron used to be friends with Clarett. Im guessin that friendship has been denounced as well. Hope Maurice can get himself together, tho Im not sure how much prison can help with that. Scary place...

Today's plea agreement settled two criminal cases against him(the cell phone robbery outside a bar with a gun, and the incident a few weeks ago when he was pulled over with an arsenal of weapons, a bullet proof vest...and a 3/4 finsihed bottle of vodka). He pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery and carrying a concealed weapon, all other charges are dropped. The plea deal actally carries a 7 1/2 year sentence with a potential release after 3 1/2 years. If he gets out early he'd have 5 years of probation.

Now that I think about it....he'll probably be serving 7 1/2. Have fun in the joint Mo, I hear it's a blast.

Correctional Football League? He should be a first round pick for Mansfield Cell Block C. His signing bonus will be impressive...probably a carton of smokes and he gets to clean urinals instead of shitters. Maybe even 5 "get out of rape" passes for the nights he's not feeling up to it.

Best Prison movie......Id say "Shawshank Redemption". "Escape from Alcatraz" with the mighty Clint Eastwood is up there as well. I enjoyed a recent Van Damme movie called "In Hell".

I dont know if the movies match with the reality of prison, but Im sure I NEVER wanna go there...

Mo obviously has messed up more overall, and is paying a bigger price, but they're both equally moronic. Plus, all the really bad stuff he did was post-denouncement by the Buckeye nation, after he left school. While at VT Vick was a bigger screw up than Mo was while at OSU.
