I get it...I just think he’s overrated quite a bit... He never cracked .500 when he was with the Phillies I believe ? And they started to take off immediately once they fired him as an NL East contender

Took over a loaded Boston team that was in game 7 of the ALCS the previous year and should have been in the World Series in ‘03...He was handed the keys to a ready made championship contender

Not only were the Red Sox loaded but they continued to have success as an organization after Francona ...

He has his moments but there’s so many head scratching moments as well... I like the guy, I’m fine with him as the manager... I just think he’s pretty overrated overall...

Certainly he's had some talented rosters, but he's also a really, really good manager.

I think managing a clubhouse/locker room is one of the most essential (and maybe underrated) pieces to a winning sports franchise and Tito does that as good as any other manager in the league. The 4 years in Philly aside, he's done nothing but win.

I have a feeling people won't fully appreciate him until he's no longer managing the team.

Could Hargrove manage Pedro Martinez, Manny, Johnny Damon and Kevin Millar? His fucking Ace said the Yankees were his daddy.

Titos Red Sox teams were one bad seed away from being a 3rd place team and he got those personalities to mesh perfectly.

The bolded has been proven over his career, and I'd argue is more important in baseball than any other sport.

My grips with him have never measured up to how good he is in this area. I can't imagine wanting him to be fired or to retire, because I expect some dark seasons to immediately follow.

I do think the trend in the complaints with him though is that he's obstinate and doesn't seem to adjust as well as other guys have. The lineup construction, play-time allocation, etc. have all been themes with him for a long time. You just accept that he is what he is, and I willingly take the bad with all of the good.

Pronk and Grady's careers being cut short due to injury makes me sad. Grady in particular.

Baseball is such a simple game that just about every kid plays some form of it at an early age.. from wiffle ball to kick ball.

And that makes everybody an expert...lol.

Terry Francona will go into the HOF as a manager....because over the course of a 162 game season he is one of the best in history.

I'm stingy with things like this, so I only put a vote in for Kluber.

Allen probably as well just because he's the franchise saves leader.

It's crazy to me that Kipnis only has 5 votes. He's likely a shoo-in for Heritage Park. Had a better career than Baerga, who is already in.

Because he had some down years at the end I think people forget how good Kip was. And how important he was in the rebuild from Manny Acta bad to game 7 of the World Series.
