Cleveland Browns 2018 Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm going to the game in OAK as long as it doesn't fall on a few certain weekends. So, please work out for me.

Why do they keep doing this stuff with having us opening with Pittsburgh?

i don't understand this.

And @ Saints in Week 2

Fuck

I hate having to be pessimistic about week 1, but you know...they are still the (vomiting while I type this) standard in this division and that #metoo asshole still has yet to hang it up.

For those thinking we'll be close to .500? I don't think that's realistic. it's unfortunate. It sucks. I'm tired of it. I want better. But you cannot flick the switch to go from 0-16 to "PLAYOFFS" within a year, hell even 2.

That doesn't give people a "rebuilding" excuse. In fact? Every offseason should always be "how do we win on sundays". But even with a very good offseason (which, pre-draft I would argue we did) we are still very behind the rest of the divison, let alone the rest of the NFL.

I just can't see how you do indeed get on equal footing with a team like Pittsburgh within an 0-16 season.

New team.

Saints may actually have a challenge. With Drew sacked six times and all.

Bring it. This squad is nearly ready barring catastrophic draft choices at #1 and #4.

I don’t think it’s too far fetched for us to go 6-10, which is close. I think the most realistic outcome is 4-12 and that’s a good step in the right direction. Tyrod is going to help immensely.

It will be a tough game in NOLA. Not a game the Browns can't win, but I think it's one of the tougher on the schedule. If the Browns have, say, Chubb on the line, that's a pretty intense & relentless line going after Brees.

I enjoy the early season challenge for the Browns.

They probably won’t win, but they should be able to compete with a team like New Orleans.

Then again Hue could go full Hue and Tyrod could be putting the ball in the air 50 times.

I get it. We were terrible last year. And the year before, and before...

But we have hit on some drafts and w/all the new hires, signings..we have a chance to do this. And we cannot disregard the absolute importance of bringing in a serviceable, capable QB (Tyrod).

I feel you are old enough to remember the Colts a handful of years back. Manning was lost for the season and the went 2-14. Next draft? Andrew Luck. Went 11-5. Is that 0-16 to 11-5? No. But that is one hell of a f'n turn around that proves bringing in/drafting the right people can change everything.

I do not see any reason why we cannot follow the path of the Falcons, but maybe even ramped higher. A few years back they went from 4-12 or 3-13, to 6-10, to 8-8, to something even better. I forget exactly.

I know we say this every year after our draft, FA signings, etc. But there is absolutely no reason for this team, with our FA's, draftees, 2nd years, 3rd years...to not get a handful of wins. If there is another season on our hands where we win 2 games or less...I don't even have words for it.

It starts now.

Hue isn't the OC any more.

Vegas is saying our win total is 4.5. I take the over.
  • STEELERS--opening day gives us a chance. 0-1
  • AT SAINTS--not likely 0-2
  • JETS--first win 1-2
  • AT RAIDERS--first upset 2-2
  • RAVENS--there is hope 3-2
  • CHARGERS--we play them tough 3-3
  • AT BUCCANEERS--another road win 4-3
  • AT STEELERS--no way 4-4
  • CHIEFS--we can play them tough 4-5
  • FALCONS--they will be better this year 4-6
  • BYE WEEK
  • AT BENGALS--3rd road win 5-6
  • AT TEXANS---they will be a lot better 5-7
  • PANTHERs--Cam will run wild 5-8
  • AT BRONCOS--hate broncos we win 6-8
  • BENGALS--easy win. 7-8
  • AT RAVENS--it is time 8-8

That's fair, honestly. The 4.5 +/-

I would be happy to get 5 wins. Anything over is just icing on the cake.

If we make a 1 year miraculous turnaround - hell to the yeah. But if we can make small strides and win 5-6 this year, 8-9 in 2019 (that's playoff pushing), then I will be ecstatic.

I think the Silver lining of the under is it's almost a guarantee that Hue is terminated. If they hit the over, won't it be the first time in several years?

What are our Pythagorean Wins?

I will have to bet the over on 4.5 wins. I mean, I think the change at QB is worth 4 alone. Gordon playing all year. Dirty Landry. Njoku a year older. Better OC. Garrett healthy. Upgrades in the secondary.

I also think the Bengals are cooked and quite possibly the Ravens are too. I just don’t think our division will be very good this coming year.
