Why does it take so fucking long to make the schedule? The second that last regular season game ended, every team knew every opponent they would be playing next season. So why does the ordering of it take almost 4 months?

Weird prime time schedule that seems to cater heavily to market size and distant history. I really hope for the media's sake that the Jets aren't a colossal flop.
