Cleveland Browns 2021 Regular Season: RIP

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So, I was paying very close attention to this over the entire game. And I posted about it during the game in the game thread.

Ward was lined up across Hill OR Kelce for almost every single snap. He was moving back & forth between the two all game long.

From what I recall, he gave up a few receptions, each for under 10-15 ish yards.

The problem was, whichever one Ward wasn't covering on the particular play, typically ended up making the reception. Kelce roasted our LBs. Almost half of Hill's yards came on that fluke bomb play while being covered (perfectly) by JJ3.

Again, Ward was fine yesterday. I personally wouldn't say he was great, but he definitely wasn't bad. I'd say the same about Newsome, Hill and JJ3.

The LBs were a total disaster in coverage all game long. As was Stewart. And Greedy may as well have not been on the field for the few snaps he played.

I remember seeing Ward make a handful of really good plays and broke up a few completions.

its fucking sweet to throw an adequate run defense out there. Surrendered 73 yards on 23 carries; this defense will put pressure on offenses to throw because they stop the run effectively I think. Things will be a lot easier for them when they aren’t playing one of the best quarterbacks ever. Was nice to see after watching whatever the fuck Ohio State was trying to do Saturday.

Also so good to hear Wills is day to day: waiting for Stefanski to announce that Greedy is year-to-year.
Yeah...CEH isn't any good at all, but still, KC was basically incapable of running the ball against us. When was the last time a Browns defense shut down any aspect of an opposing offense? That was really cool to see.

Was anyone else less than thrilled with our playcalling on the last drive of the game? Feel like even if Baker hadn't thrown an INT, we still pissed away like 90 seconds to move 20 yards

I thought it was fine. We still had over a minute, and I think one timeout? And we were at the 50 yard line.

Still left wondering how terrifying the Chiefs offense could have been if they had taken Taylor, Swift, or Dobbins instead of CEH last year. What a misfire. Not as bad as taking Hardman over Metcalf a year earlier, but still.

As they say, never get in the way when your enemy is fucking up.

My biggest problem I had with the defensive game plan is they just let kelce run wherever he wanted. What Tampa did that was successful was the just beat the piss out of kelce up at the line and with in 5 yards. There LB’s just kept hitting him and throwing him off his routes.

We should trade for this Raiders punter. He's been the sole bright spot in the first half for them so far. :chuckle:

If the Ravens beat the Chiefs I’m gonna have to change my number because I won’t be able to handle the texts from my father.

Derek Carr was a lot of fun to watch last night… Sometimes I watch him and feel he’s overrated then nights like last night I feel he’s underrated…

Was kinda picturing him in a Browns uniform last night and was wondering if our offense would be even better with Derek Carr ?
