Cleveland Browns 2021 Regular Season: RIP

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I mean, it wouldn’t be surprising if that’s the case; I’m sure he’s lacking in generating separation if/when he’s running routes that require a heavy amount of footwork. I take absolutely no issue with DPJ being a limited player; for what he’s offering at this point that’s still fantastic value for where he was selected in the draft.

if he was selected in rounds 1-2 I’m probably complaining more than inquiring. I had never heard that name so I appreciate the info. In short I agree — just explaining why. I think @Randolphkeys may have said at this point — he may just not be equipped or developed enough to beat a team’s top corner consistently either.
Oh, I agree with Keys 100%. He's not ready to be a #1 receiver in this league. He never will be that. I'll say that with confidence.

His absolute top-end ceiling, in terms of pass catching, is one of those bigger guys like late-career AJ Green, or a lesser version of Kenny Golladay. That's just who the player is, and that's not a bad thing.

If you're interested in Reception Perception, they literally go through every single snap and chart what the receiver does. They break it down by coverage and look at separation and "wins." It's really one of the best tools out there. It's like 20 bucks for the lowest tier annual subscription.

Garrett and Hunt will steal the headlines… but I was surprised/pleased with just how effective OBJ was. What a fantastic return from 10+ months of recovery for him, and in a surprising number of snaps.

He looked comfortable out there and there were no signs of the ‘chemistry’ issues we saw early last year. Baker didn’t stare him down, worked progressions, and did so with lesser line play than we saw in games one and two.

Passing offense is going to be very good when Baker gets time and they all hit their stride.

I am a little concerned about the number of sacks teams are getting against Baker and our OL. I think the Bears have a very talented front 7, but if our OL is as elite as everyone keeps saying then we need to do a better job of pass protection, getting the ball out, and recognizing blitzes and uncovered rushers. Just something Stefanski needs to clean up before Mayfield gets hurt.
