Cleveland Browns 2021 Regular Season: RIP

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Disappointing because Newsome has been better than Denzel Ward this year.
Yeah on that note, what was with Ward today? It didn’t end up mattering much because Fields could barely get a throw off most of the time, but I noticed a couple plays Ward let his guy beat him and did a poor job contesting.

I am a little concerned about the number of sacks teams are getting against Baker and our OL. I think the Bears have a very talented front 7, but if our OL is as elite as everyone keeps saying then we need to do a better job of pass protection, getting the ball out, and recognizing blitzes and uncovered rushers. Just something Stefanski needs to clean up before Mayfield gets hurt.
The OL was the furthest thing from elite today, particularly from the LT position. Some of it was the Bears pass rush is legitimately good and the best we’ve faced so far this year, but it needs to be cleaned up.

Best thing from this game is they may finally have a kicker.
The best thing is that we won the game with our defense. Just dominant performance by the front 4. Terrifying. And then JOK was everywhere and Newsome with a couple of big plays too.

The story here is that we actually won the game with a “struggling” offense, that only had 26 points. In fact the final score was the same as the first downs from each team. Please don’t call an abuse hotline after looking at these team stats:

Did anyone notice Delpit today? I know our secondary didn't have much to do but I feel like i didn't even see him on the field
I was actually about to ask about this as well. I don't recall seeing him at all.

Baker had an off day, and the offense was a struggle all day, but we have a far superior team and very happy they took care of bidniss. One more week and the soft part of the schedule is over. They sure need to go to 3-1 next week considering how the schedule gets pretty tough after. Defense two steps forward, offense one step back. Kicking two steps forward. Coaching maybe one back with some of those play calls…

Good win. But we unfortunately didn’t learn too much about the team this week. That will be when we play the Chargers. Geez what I wouldn’t give the swap Baker with Herbert. Oh well.

I saw him in a gang tackle. That was it. Safeties were really just dropping into coverage while the front 7 did all the heavy lifting. I would wager to say that our safeties combined maybe had 5 tackles. If that.

Harrison had one good tackle, Johnson had one break up that i can remember, i dont remember seeing Delpit.....but the front 7 was so domininating today, who knows....anyone have that downs played list?

Harrison had a sack and a very nice PBU.

I don't recall seeing JJ3 at all either beyond what should have been a nice INT.

But, it was a weird game in that nothing really happened downfield (beyond the PI).

Myles Garrett led the pregame huddle before the players left the field for the player intros. He was very vocal and very animated. Anyone who saw it could tell he was focused on having a big game and he did just that.
