Cleveland Browns 2021 Regular Season: RIP

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is Baker's time to step up...let it rip...I wanna see this on Sunday:

Baker has been hesitant to throw the ball down the field this season...hopefully this forces his hand and can help our offense be more balanced moving forward.
I want to see more downfield throws also. Though surprisingly he seems to be doing it often this year. Per the Athletic he's tied for #2 in percentage of 20+ yard throws this year:
Justin Fields: 18.1 percent
Mayfield: 17.9 percent
Aaron Rodgers: 17.9 percent
Derek Carr: 17.1 percent
Russell Wilson: 16.8 percent

I think where he's lacking is making those connections. If he wasn't whiffing, then we're probably looking at it differently.

This shouldnt be a surprise to anyone on this board, there have been numerous conversations about his contract and when best to cut him.

Also dont just quote sportrac, there is no "out" after 2023. Thats just when his dead cap hit drops below some random threshold. But more or less the best time to cut and run with Hooper would probably be after this year, with the assumption the browns can re-sign Njoku. The reason is that every year you dont cut Hooper means the next year there is a big cap hit. At some point you just have to accept the hit and move on. Unless you are going to let him take up 10 million in cap space every year for the next 2 years after this (which seems very unlikely)

I am sorry that this was surprising to me. I will make sure I have a better handle on the contract details of all our players.

Please enlighten me on a better contract source than Spotrac. Thank you for your time.

That must be including YAC. I don't recall many completions that actually traveled 20+ yards in the air. I've seen tons of clips of him just not even attempting those throws despite the WR having separation.

I don’t like our odds in a baker vs kyler game if hunt is also out…

Oh it's not completions, it's just percentage of passing attempts lol. Dude has been whiffing downfield.

I've seen him throw a ton of them... and complete a ton of them.

Just because he isn't throwing 50 yard bombs doesn't mean he isn't pushing 20+ yard passes.

Ahhh, okay. That makes more sense. Yeah, I think him whiffing has led to him passing up on some additional opportunities. But at some point you gotta just keep doing it until you get it right. Like shooting your way out of a slump in basketball.

He’s a terrible in game coach. Might be a good thing for them. Let him make the game plan and someone else calls the game.

We were told Kliff is an elite coach by a fellow board member, though...
His record has improved every year, he can't be that horrible. He seems like a douche, but then again the most successful NFL coach ever is also a douche.

His roster has improved every year, too...
