Cleveland Browns 2021 Regular Season: RIP

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I know the doom and gloomers are out in full force this week. They'll continue to circle jerk each other in fake fan tears while they claim we have an average QB. Now the argument is an average HC. I sure as shit know there are plenty of below-average posters on here.

Amidst the sea of shit, here are some nice numbers based on statistics.

We've got some young guys playing exceptionally well and that's a fact.

I think that fans of this team have a tendency to get trapped in a toxic negativity cycle because we were so bad for so long, and so every loss means the sky is falling and we’re reverting back to the “same old Browns.” I don’t even read the game threads when the team is losing because people get insane with the hot takes.

Well, his ceiling clearly was this high lol

Actually my point, he has out performed my ceiling for him so far this year. I am pleasantly surprised, and i wasnt an anti Greedy guy in the offseason.

The bolded are all metrics you can't fairly judge Stefanski on and compare him with coaches who have been coaching for many years.

You also mentioned ~both LA coaches~ meaning you were including Brandon Staley who is a rookie HC. How can you rank him above Stefanski using those metrics, given Staley has only coached 5 games and thus, has no Super Bowls, playoff success, or any meaningful duration of success.

Honest questions here. If you're not trolling and this is your genuine view, then you might be able to at least understand why calling Stefanski average when he doesn't have anywhere near the longevity required (to accurately compare him with the other listed coaches based on your metrics provided) is probably not being fair to him.

I stopped reading when he had Kliff friggin Kingsbury as an elite NFL head coach.

Seeing Greedy have success makes me feel good. Happy for him, and also think that bodes well for our secondary as it gets healthy.
I was always pretty hard on him bc I felt he didn't give effort his rookie year. Once he took hits he seemed to play scared. Then you see the whole debacle with his shoulder and can't help but get frustrated. Especially bc he felt like we actually got a steal.

This week he played like he wanted to be a #1 corner. He played hard and he played smart. You love to see it.

His clock management is elite, the fuck you talking about?

To be fair, I think it was a bit lackluster vs the Chargers. After the fumble right before half the Browns could have had 2nd and 1 from the 13 with approximately 30 seconds left had Stefanski used his timeout. Instead the spiked it (iirc) with 9 seconds left and they were unable to take a shot into the endzone on 3rd and 1. Checkdown to Hunt right at the marker which was incomplete and ultimately inconsequential because the next play would have been the last play of the half. I understand keeping the timeout protects you from a sack but the Browns had a chance for 7 on that drive.

And on the final drive, not sure if Stefanski is to blame necessarily, but there were several stupid passes in the middle of the field that burned precious clock for very minimal gains.

I think the end of the game clock management is 100% on Baker, he shouldnt be throwing 4 yard underneath passes unless it was 3rd or 4th and needed a first down.

I’m kinda worried about Greedy. I can’t remember which arm he hurt Sunday and which shoulder he originally had issues with, but the way he was holding his arm and opening/closing his fist looked like something nerve related.

Same shoulder is my understanding. He is fine, but because it was the same shoulder there was a bit of a panic at first.

Think of it this way, if you are worried about Greedy, imagine how Greedy feels, lol
