Kokinis story- don't read the article. You can watch the video if you want more color to it. If you don't- As Will Burge understands it, Mangini didn't want Kokinis, he wanted to run the show himself. Mangini didn't allow Kokinis in personnel meetings. Therefore Kokinis mailed it in. The story was he checked out, wore sweatpants into the office and played video games in his office which pissed Mangini off. Apparently he was drinking on the job and the final nail was he banged some women in his office. He was then walked out of the building.

Probably because nobody wanted to risk a defamation lawsuit if it turned out to be untrue. So, they never talked about the details publicly.

Because if it is true that Kokinis had been pushed to the side by Mangina like that, his behavior goes from bizarre dereliction to malicious compliance. It's all a black eye for the team: bringing him in in the first place, neutering his job, and keeping him around for what appears to be no reason. The league's collective avoidance of Browns FO/coaching positions after the Mangina Regime makes sense based on how they did Kokinis.
The media teased us because they either guy caught flat-footed by the situation, or they feared losing their team connections over reporting something so embarrassing.

I don’t think they actually knew the story. Rizzo is full of crap. There has been so many front office changes throughout the years including ownership that revealing the full story wouldn’t have effected anything.
