Cleveland Browns 2022 Regular Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Brissett is playing for 6 more years of backup qb money while holding a clipboard 15 games a year and playing 2.

100% agree, except he was too young in NE, but he learned allot. He has gotten better over the years and is an extremly average at best qb. But he plays safe, is smart, tough, and knows how to read a defense.

Get the defense healthy with the long time between games, letBrissett suprise with his averageness, lol
These are my thoughts as well.

Brissett is basically the best-case scenario for what you want in a back-up QB:

Good enough to win you games if called upon a few games a year, but not young enough with potential, nor good enough, to create a QB controversy or pushing for a trade to start elsewhere.

A type of guy you can pay reasonable money to, who is a good locker room presence, and at the very least won't lose games for you if coming in off your starter's minor injury in the 3rd or 4th quarters.

It's that sweet spot for a great back-up: A 28-33 year-old sometime starter who at best would rank in the lower teens amongst QBs.

He is a Ryan Fitzpatrick level qb. Completely different games, but simular levels.

I also know Brissett is really well liked by his teammates. This cant be stated enough as an importatn quality for a back up qb. Has to have that type of personality that teammates rally around.

Baker, for example will make a terrible backup for this reason, just not well liked.

Baker will also always agitate to start, and barring that as a possibility, will be disgruntled and push to be traded.

It is almost a most rare quality: To be moderately good, but also humble.

I thought Ocho Cinco was a real asshole on the post-game. He kinda came up and immediately said something about 8 more starts. He changed the vibe and fuck that guy so I went to bed bc I waited for “Jacoby coming up to join us” for like 45 minutes. Took longer than an Amazon Prime package.

god damn it would be nice to be 3-0
We don’t drive looking in the rear view mirror.

Trubiski had a nice game. He played well and within himself, especially before we made him uncomfortable.

Brissett also had a nice game. Yes he missed a few throws but most QBs do, including really good ones. He came around and hit some out routes too, and we didn’t suck in the red zone. Nice to see some fire from him too.

I was a little confused why we went man but it was probably the right thing to do. I thought Trubiski would run more but he kinda elected to stay w the simplified game plan. We looked a little rusty with man at times, but partly bc Mitch was throwing well.

Cooper is really fun to watch, but Njoku stole the show and really showed out. How far we’ve come from him wanting to be traded.

Chubb ran like a man possessed. He wasn’t leaving anything to chance.

We hung in there in the first half, didn’t get in our feelings, and came out strong in the 2nd half. Proud of our guys, and now the long rest.

For my sanity I’m gonna just imagine that we deserved to lose Game 1 and should have clearly won Game 2

3-1 would be a really solid start.

For my sanity I’ve convinced myself that we wouldn’t have had that players only meeting emphasizing pre-snap communication had we beat the Jets. So the defensive woes would have come to a head and we would have lost last night.

We all have our ways of coping. :chuckle:

Good way of looking at it. Guess I'd rather tank a game to the Jets instead of the Steelers.
