Cleveland Browns 2020 Regular Season: What a Ride!

It is one thing to lose to a better team. It is another to get completely embarrassed.

I want to believe the Browns are a playoff caliber team, but it is difficult to wrap my head around that when you get absolutely spanked by the best teams in your division. Take care of business against the Bengals next weekend and go from there, but there is reason for concern here.

This game was set up for a beatdown with our injuries and illness. A 100% Baker is maybe league average. A limited Baker against the Steelers coupled with an immediate 2 score deficit is just asking for a massacre. You have to run on Pittsburgh so they can’t pin their ears back.

I’m pissed with the poor showing, but more concerned with next week. Rebound and beat a Cincy team that blew a huge lead today and you are 5-2 and sitting pretty with a weak 2nd half schedule. Lose and you are sliding back into the middle of the conference and the howls for Baker’s head will be intense. Not to mention the honeymoon being over for the coaching staff.

Today we got another reminder of how far away the Browns are from being Super Bowl ready.

Big difference between playoff and Super Bowl good. Ravens and Steelers are that quality.

Couldnt agree more. We are a borderline playoff team, but nowhere close to contending.

I think the honeymoon ended today.

Idk, I'm still fairly confident Stefanski is pretty good, despite today. He knows he did a shit job today, and he's still young and figuring it all out.

I think the Browns come out and brutalize the Bengals next week. They cannot stop the run and the Browns defense is far ahead of where it was in week 2.

The Browns can beat up on the weaker schedule and uneven teams. But the Steelers and Ravens of the world will beat up on the Browns while they are still fine tuning and developing depth.

Yeah not saying hes bad or anything. Just that we were kinda riding high and I think we see now that there’s a shit ton of work to be done still.

That's definitely fair.

Do you want a positive? I actually feel like the defense is rounding into form, despite the score. The offense's inability to stay on the field and giving the Steelers a ton of possessions is ultimately what undid them, but it felt like for 3 quarters of the game, the defense was definitely good enough to win the game.

I would rather have them get punched in the mouth by top tier organization than a mid to low tier org.

This COULD be a great opportunity to lick their wounds, learn and move forward like professional/winning orgs do.

In-week media interviews and next Sunday against the Bengals will give us an idea of what type of coaching (adjustments) and players (bounce back) we have after an absolute taint/balls/cock slapping experience.

Said this previously, but I think the only way to help the secondary this season is to add another pass rusher or two and hope additional pressure covers for some deficiencies. Reid is about the only guy I'd be interested in signing in the secondary, though I'd question if he's still in shape to play right now.

Wtf does that mean? How do you focus on getting the roster healthy. That’s on the training staff and the players. you can sign someone while others are out. And sendejo needs to be replaced anyway so we need a starter for the season there.

Have you seen Anderson Sendejo? As long as Eric Reid can move his arms and legs, he can't be any worse.
