43-12
For those who forgot. Chubb ran wild on BMore....in BMore last season. They put a good whopping on them as a team. It’s gonna be a challenge, but the BROWNS have something to prove and have done it before.Opening day score? Damn, Crackmore laying the wood. Will not watch.

Except a new system install with no game time practice versus a team returning a system, on both sides of the ball. Week one is not indicative of the season.
Browns go 6-10. Again.
Can we stop with the doom and gloom and guaranteed/definitive statements that the defense will be trash? Why watch if you're so sure? You could be rich since you know the outcome already.
If Joe Woods > Steve Wilks then the defense will likely perform better. The only real person worth mentioning is the loss of Schobert and outside of 2 games last year, he was a JAG.
If the offense isn't the complete disaster that it was last year, then the defense will likely perform better.
I get it - be pessimistic like your life depends on it, but I don't think anyone can make any definitive statements about either side of the ball right now.
I've always said, a new system can be an advantage if the coaches know what they are doing and the players are good.
So if we believe in Stefanski and we think we have good offensive talent, Baltimore having no tape on us is an advantage.
So is having the entire training camp scheming to stop their offense.
Week 1 is a nice competency test for our coaches IMO.
I doubt they spend much time in training camp scheming to stop one opponent before the week of. Especially during a limited training camp and new coaching staff.I've always said, a new system can be an advantage if the coaches know what they are doing and the players are good.

It's not about being pessimistic. It's about taking a realistic look at what's there. Actually, in all honesty, I can't remember a single time over the past 20 years where I was optimistic about a season and the Browns did nothing but fall on their faces. Truthfully I like the coaching hires, but they're still rookies at this point. I like some of the picks, though I have serious concerns over Wills' ability to adapt to LT and what that could mean short-and-long-term
In terms of the D, Delpit's done. He was supposed to be a huge addition and help shore up the secondary. Karl Joseph is coming off a season-ending right foot injury that happened in week 9 and was still a limited participant to start camp. He also tore his right ACL in college and has missed a number of games over his first four years in the league. Greedy's had his own injury concerns, missed four games last year, and is going to miss some to start the year. Ward has a laundry list of injury concerns, and Johnson is still recovering from his spleen injury. All of our starters or projected starters in the secondary have dicey histories in terms of staying healthy and overall we lack quality depth in that area.
Things are pretty barren at linebacker and will be especially so until Mack gets back. Not really much to say there.
That being said, the line should be a strength. The biggest problem I see is that teams are going to destroy the Browns defense over the middle of the field because there's just nothing there. Any team that is good at running between the tackles and has a QB that can exploit crossing routes, seams, posts, and middle screens is going to shred this defense. Fortunately or unfortunately, the Ravens offense is basically built perfectly to do this very thing, so we'll get a good look early on to see what happens.
