Where the hell did that Gustin guy come from? He looked great. I'm sure playing on a line with Myles and Larry O helps, but seemed like he was around the qb a lot. Never really read much on him through the summer.

Hopefully we finally hit on a diamond in the rough.

He's our new Jamie Meder :chuckle:

He was a workout warrior from USC. I thought he would end up on a 3-4 team as a blitzing outside linebacker, but he put on some good weight and kicked ass in training camp.

Wills seems a dude who studies the craft and has the strength and polish to be damn good. Can’t wait to see him against Washington.

Gustin was awesome in camp and took Chad Thomas's spot.

Everyone freaks out about zone coverage, but the main reason it is effective is the run defense. When your entire back seven have their eyes on the action at the snap, they jump into run contain quicker. Against the offenses we face in the AFC North, it's a no brainier, and it's why Gregggg Williams wasn't a good fit.

I 100% agree with this.

But, zone or not, our defensive line was dominating the awful Bengals offensive line. Mixon was hit in the backfield so many times, and showed why he's one of the best backs in the NFL... the way he would take a -4 yard play with a Defensive Lineman squaring him up, and turn it into a 3 yard gain is just stupid.
