i understand you didnt mean to down play the amount of pain he is in, but i would imagine it is probably somewhat substantial.

Hah! I thought of that same scene when I posted that, although McClanahan had a thigh bruise if I remember. My point was just that an OL generally will play through pain if it is not doing any damage.

I think for a lot of Americans above a certain age, especially if they're sports fans, that 1980 Olympic Hockey run is one of those life-marker events. Impossible to convey the full impact for those who weren't old enough to be aware back then.

A great movie too. Kurt Russell killed it.

Maybe? Browns were without both Vernon and Garrett both of those games, and they were officially out of it.

I'm not saying the Browns will stop him, but I doubt he's going for 162 again.
I know this is going to be an unpopular take given that many have left this team for dead, but I think we’re gonna dad dick the Bengals and they will be playing from behind most of the game so they will abandon the run at some point

I watched a few bengals games last year and the entirety of their game week 1 and that team fucking blows. The pressure we brought against a substantially better offensive line in week 1 is going to make Burrow’s life hell, something LA did with relative ease on Sunday

as you have brought up I am expecting to dominate on the ground. Honestly I think we just abuse them in the trenches in an imposing win

I can already see the narrative forming painting OBJ as this teams scapegoat and that makes me sad. It makes me sad because in the same breath that people say you can't win in this league and be led by a WR people don't hesitate to say that OBJ isn't even that good. Okay then if the only thing that makes OBJ a number 1 WR is his salary and not his play then why are people scapegoating him? If Landry really is our best WR why is OBJ getting so much share of the blame for why we haven't been good?

If OBJ is our number 2 and Juice is our number 1 why are people making it out to seem like this team is struggling because our number 2 WR is struggling? Really? This team sucks because our number 2 WR has not been playing well even though his numbers are nearly identical to our other good WR?

I only post this because I can see when people talk about Jarvis Landry they are also taking shots at OBJ which still ignores what the real issue with this team is. It's the dude behind the center who gets the ball every play.

I don't think anyone's painting OBJ as the scapegoat or ignoring Baker's struggles. Rather than sit here and moan and complain all day and night about the QB, we've accepted where we are with him. We'll be ready to move on from him if he stinks, it's just not gonna be after one freaking week this year.

Any painful injury is easily remedied by pain killers.

Give the guy a couple oxy before the game he will be very fine indeed.

its a valid point.

Other than Ben went 13 - 0 regular season in his first season and won the Super Bowl his 2nd year, ya it's the same. :p

Ugh, I feel dirty pimping Rapey Roethlisberger, and I know his "team" was performing better, but Wins matter and it's not like we don't have offensive talent.

Except Roethlisberger was drafted into a super bowl ready team and asked to be a game manager throwing 20 passes a game. Not to be the main talent/ driving force behind a team.

To be clear, I like Baker. I'm not saying we should give up, but wins count.

Dan Marino was a franchise QB, Trent Dilfer was a game manager. Only one of those two has a Super Bowl ring.
We only use "game manager" when tempering enthusiasm for a player, however it's also known as "taking what the Defense gives you" and "not making mistakes"; both of which are valued traits in a QB.

I admitted Ben's team was playing better (especially Defensively), but I don't recall very many 3rd and 41's either.
Anyways, hope they turn it around. Too much talent for last week's display.
