A win would also be a huge boost for a wild card slot. Tough to get 3 teams from same division in.
Not to mention how infrequently the Browns have beaten Rapelisburger, let alone win in Pittspuke.
It is a tough task this weekend. Sure would be nice if the o-line and Chubb were healthy.
I actually think there’s a pretty good chance the North gets 3 teams in unless the bottom just falls out for the Ravens, Browns, or Steelers, especially since the league added another Wild Card spot. The Bills and Texans got in at 10-6 last year. The Titans got in at 9-7. With the extra Wild Card spot, the Steelers would’ve been the #7 seed at 8-8. The Rams would’ve got in at 9-7.
If the season ended today, the division winners would be the Titans, Steelers, Bills, and KC. Wild cards would be Ravens, Browns, and Colts or Raiders depending on tie breakers. Colts and Raiders are the only 3 win teams in the AFC right now and the Pats and Dolphins are the only 2 win teams.
Colts look like an 8-8 team to me unless Rivers finds the fountain of youth. Raiders are harder to pin down as the KC win was impressive. Pats look like a team that just hovers around .500 all year and Dolphins likely fade back into the top 5.
Our remaining schedule isn’t very good, and if we can beat the Raiders we’d have the head-to-head tie breakers with the two teams immediately behind us. IMO, we only need to go 6-5 to finish the year to make sure we get a wild card spot.
In the division, I think we beat Cinci, split with Pitt, and lose to Baltimore. That’d put us at 6-3. The Jets, Jags, and Giants should all be wins. That’s 9-3.
That means in theory we should only need to go 1-3 against the Texans, Titans, Eagles, and Raiders to make the playoffs.
As long as we remain relatively healthy I don’t see why that’s not possible.
any concern with the medical staff or is this just a byproduct of a terrible season for everyone because of the circumstances?
I think we get worked by Pittsburgh bc we aren’t healthy, and they run complex blitzes. But really it’s the health thing. We are More hurt in the secondary and of course Teller and Chubb are our w Mayfield nursing bruised ribs.

Gather thy rosebuds while ye may....Well, that's fucking gross. So Redwine starting at SS I'd imagine? And Sendejo playing like everything snap. Hopefully this Javonte Moffatt can be a pleasant surprise. Ogunjobi had a week off so hopefully he's good to go. Was he limited participate today or DNP? Should be pretty telling. Gillian needs to stop smashing chicks for this weekend and give the groin a break.
I'm concerned with the complex blitzing. I don't think we've faced a team like them yet, so I wonder how Kevski and co. will try to attack it. We haven't used screens much all year, I wonder if we run more of 'em on Sunday. Maybe some over the top shots to OBJ if there's one-on-one coverage? Steelers D is vulnerable down the field this year.
