I follow the Steelers closely.

They've played a really soft schedule and haven't looked terribly impressive in any of their wins.

I wouldn't be shocked in the Browns beat them rather easily.

I agree. I've watched them quite a bit myself and I have this gut feeling we'll give them a beatdown.

In all of our wins, it feel like we were always on the cusp of blowing a team out and keeping it that way. I feel like we're a bit better than what we've shown thus far.

I'm concerned with the complex blitzing. I don't think we've faced a team like them yet, so I wonder how Kevski and co. will try to attack it. We haven't used screens much all year, I wonder if we run more of 'em on Sunday. Maybe some over the top shots to OBJ if there's one-on-one coverage? Steelers D is vulnerable down the field this year.

Well, part of the impetus for the development of zone blocking in the first place was the zone blitzing of the Steelers. So in terms of scheme, we are ideally positioned to limit/exploit their zone blitzing.

If both teams were at 100% full health I think we could beat them by double digits. But the absences of Teller/Chubb and Harrison/Joseph are pretty huge. Still think we can win, but would feel much better if Teller and Chubb were playing

I agree we’d do better with those guys playing, but that is quite an extreme statement. It’s hard to see a RB, RG, and a couple safeties being primarily responsible for a 31+ point swing. Really 41+, since you said beat them by double digits.

I don’t think that’s at all realistic.

EDIT: Oh, I now see you posted this before the game today. Moving along :chuckle:

Today we got another reminder of how far away the Browns are from being Super Bowl ready.

Big difference between playoff and Super Bowl good. Ravens and Steelers are that quality.

Who knows if they are even playoff quality.

need to see a lot more.

today was night and day though from last four games so hopefully more of a mirage than reality.

Well, it was a fun four weeks, but it's time to break this bad boy out again...

I feel confident that this team is good enough to make the playoffs. I don't think it was a coincidence that both the Browns and Colts suffered through a majority of their games.

I don't think the last four games were a mirage, just that the Steelers are healthy, motivated, experienced and just a better organization right now.

You actually bring up another good point that’s a byproduct of this...we haven’t seen this team respond to adversity well yet. All of our wins were of the variety where we jumped out to pretty sizeable leads and managed to hold on the rest of the way.

We have yet to see this team fall behind by a touchdown or two and still come from behind to win. We’ll know how good this team really is when they show the ability to do that against a quality opponent.

Yes, posted a few days prior to the game.
Hard to know and dubious to say after such a loss, but Chubb is on an entire different level than Hunt imo and Teller in THIS offense was more than just a good OG. He was the key moving chess piece on SO many of our huge run plays.

I wish we played the Steeler again in game 9 after the Bye Week, at full strength instead of the final game of the year when we’ll no doubt have a lot of dinged up guys again.

Overall though, the game was a good reminder for everyone in that building of how far they still have to go, the adjustments that need to be made on O while Chubb/Teller are out, and the offseason additions that need to be made on the defensive side of the ball.

Update to my Browns Christmas jersey Power Ranking

1. Denzel Ward +1
2. Myles Garrett -1
3. Odell Beckham Jr +2
