Cleveland Cavaliers Summer League 2019

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

He moves pretty well. I am not sure he is going to get to those spots in a real NBA game though. I will say, it looks like he isn't going flat out, he is smooth and looks like he has another gear athletically.

How did Hachimura do?
The Japanese media has been crazy about Hachimura - there was more media of him than Zion in first game. Even top news was about Rui during prime hours in Japan.

The development staff has been working his mechanics on his shot trying to make it a smoother release and straighten his back. He is working on his 3pt shooting so that is work in progress.

Very smooth in PnR and is able to find lanes to find open area to the basket. Goes strong to the basket, utilizes fake and uses his body to get a foul. He did struggle in his first game in outside shot but that was more getting back to the game where he felt much more comfortable in second half. He could have had more opportunities but summer league guards been shooting outside. His defense against big men was pretty good. Contested shots and was always infront of his man making the player to shoot a difficult shot. Even many Wizard fans were surprised of his defense.

He is still willing to learn and has potential in this league.

Lived in Japan for 12 years and they go ducking crazy for their home grown sports figures when they make it internationally. When Ichiro went MLB, nearly every game was on. I’m not sure how merchandise is divided out but all of Japan is going to have Wizards uniforms. I wish him well except when he plays the Cavs (unless it counts for draft position...:chuckle:)

I don't think windler has returned since he went down in the first half. Have they said anything about it?

Being down 25 probably has something to do with it. Being way over-cautious.

Nice that you lived in Japan. Many people in Japan are all over Wizards twitter and becoming Wizards fans as expected. I’m sure merchandise will be sold exponentially. I may be biased but I have been watching Rui since high school and watching him progress I believe he can perform well in the NBA.

Sad to say, I think the Celtics had a good draft. Grant Williams, and Carsen Edwards showing some skills. And they got Langford..

It's only summer league, but I am a bit surprised by the wizards Hachimura. Thought he would be a stiff. But not surprised by Schoefield..

I also think Bates Diop was underrated in the draft..

Bates-Diop played well in summer league last year and it didn't translate to much playing time with the Timberwolves.

I expected Carsen Edwards and Hachimura to be good players. I think Edwards has a limited ceiling because of his size but I think he is going to be a very good six man or microwave scorer off the bench. I think Hachimura has the build to be something special if he can keep progressing.

I wanted Hachimura but not at #5, I think he got drafted at around the right spot. I also thought we could snag Carsen Edwards in the draft but once we took Garland, I felt that was off the table.

I do think some guys are shining a little bigger because so many of the top draft picks aren't playing.

That Japanese tennis player that played Federer today moved to West Palm so he could train. Intends on moving back to Japan after his playing career, but says his popularity in Japan is way to insane to train. And this guy has never won a major, only made one final and is 7th in the world, wonder what happens if Hachimura becomes an all star, lol

Get rid of Wade and sign Jock Landale from Bucks summer league team... looks a lot better and is a big that can space the floor

I often wonder why the Cavs , and this includes past GM's ..can't put together a better roster , one that looks like it has some NBA caliber players.

Looks more like the Cavs are tanking the Summer League, lol... The quality of players the Cavs have againts opponents are pretty evident... Hope it is not a preview of the regular season, not a fan of tanking personally...
