Cleveland Cavaliers Summer League 2019

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Summer league was a bust outside of Windler. Sign bolded to a 2way. Sign Blossomgame at the minimum. Guys like him

Think Bolden is a bit like Preston, never going to be NBA standard

not counting JR cavs have 2 roster spots and 1 two way left. The players who I think have a shot a camp invite:

Bolden likely 2 way
Newman
Zoosman
Naz
J. Blossomga

Sad to say, I think the Celtics had a good draft. Grant Williams, and Carsen Edwards showing some skills. And they got Langford..

It's only summer league, but I am a bit surprised by the wizards Hachimura. Thought he would be a stiff. But not surprised by Schoefield..

I also think Bates Diop was underrated in the draft..

Hachimura can play. I was at Gonzaga when he arrived from Japan. I met him when while I working in the ESL tutoring center. He's grown, both in terms of height and skill, as a player the past few years. Funny guy, too. Character seems solid. I'm in Japan now. It's been interesting hearing people get excited about him.

Summer league gave the Cavs and their coaches good practice for future tanking.

I think I might hold that 2nd two-way for a wing who impressed.

Amir Coffey is an example—he was undrafted and unsigned as a 6’8 wing playing on the Clippers summer league team and they just pounced and gave him a two-way a few days ago. We have to be prepared to offer players on other squads.

Guys to watch:

Elijah Bryant—24-year old 6’5 wing who played overseas last year from Milwaukee’s Summer League squad.

Antonius Cleveland—25 year-old 6’6 wing on Dallas’ Summer League Squad. Played in the G League last year.

James Palmer Jr—22 year-old, 6’6 wing on Phoenix’s Summer League Squad. Former Nebraska star, went undrafted this year. My personal favorite, can’t believe he hasn’t been scooped up yet. Can score on all three levels and carried Nebraska to mediocrity in the Big Ten, which is saying something.

If it were me, I’d have already given that two-way to James Palmer Jr.

Totally agree. If we all agree our summer league teams were pretty poor in both leagues, then we should be really on the lookout for a talent from some other squad.

There will likely be better talents who can't find a home with other teams than the guys we saw in Wine & Gold this summer.

I want Jock Landale but apparently he isn't interested in a two-way contract.. getting a better European contract
