Rent this flick!
I'm deathly ill so while waiting for Entourage and Flight of the Concords to come on I downloaded it from xbox live and I'm sure it is available at netflix or blockbuster. It's a documentary about cocaine in miami from like 70's thru 84.
The mob wasn't nothing compared to these colombians!
I'm telling you I had no idea what it was like and Scarface and Miami Vice don't have shit on these guys.

There was this lady in the early 80's called the godmother and she was nasty. She killed husbands. Slept with dudes and slit throats in the morning.
All of this led to Miami going from old people waiting to die, to having the best economy while the rest of the US was in a slump. All the banks in Miami around 79 made more money than every bank combined in America.

This one dude had the entire Steelers front line at his crib blowin' lines like it was going outta style right before they played in the Super Bowl in Miami.

Crazy!

Yea, i saw this, pretty good, Cocaine was the party drug back then, and although it was bad, it was still not that bad. But once people started making crack, thats when it got dangerous, there have been a couple other movies about other big drug dealers, Rayful Edmonds and guys like that.

They said basically thanks in part to the drug trafficking thats why Miami is what it is today. Something over a couple billion went into construction.

But yeah crack is the worst.

Well, Miami is a port city and is closest to Cuba and 3/4's of it are surrounded by water making it an ideal place for shipping in for stuff that shouldnt be here, human smuggling/contraband/firearms stuff like that.

Hey I never knew this quote but in like 1983-4 Fidel Castro made a speech to the Cuban people and he said, "I have flushed out all of Cuba's garbage and scum right onto America's doorstep. That was after he rounded up all the prisoners, rapists, psychos, handicapped, and mental people and smuggled them into Mia.

Scarface was based off of that..
