Collecting Obsessions

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I have a few different iterations of poker chips. Next set will hopefully be a casino paulson set.

Something like this would me amazing:

I'd also like to pick up a Rounders Teddy KGB replica set at some point:

I have the official 007 Casino Royale set.

It is cool.

I still collect baseball cards off and on over the years, although I've put it back on hold due to family, covid and an exploding market that has driven prices back up. I'm a wierd collector, though, I enjoy building sets from packs and in general don't hunt for the lottery ticketesque intentionally rare shit. I also enjoy the aesthetics of the cards more than monetary value; some of the most mass produced cards of the 80s and early 90s have little value but just look the best to me and I still love opening up those. Same with the new stuff, if I don't like the look I don't bother to collect it.

I’d pay you to help me sell my collection.

I remember collecting a bunch of Topps and a few Upper Deck when I could afford it (spent lunch money). Upper Deck looked so nice.

Wow, genuine casino Paulsons? $1.20 each seems like a very good price, at least it's down from 10-15 years ago.

I have 1000 "Discovery Cruise" (A defunct Florida cruise line casino) Paulsons which I painstakingly assembled long ago at a higher price.
The Horseshoe set would be far more preferable in my view. If you have the capital, I'd suggest you pull the trigger!

Hey all. I’m new here. It comes off weird, but I like collecting teeth. Human, dog, cat, sharks. Whatever.

So two years ago I bought a very nice commemorative watch from the modern Pavel Bure, Paul Buhre out of Switzerland, made in the early 80s as an homage to the Imperial Era Czarist presentation watches.

Now the homage (the homage is gilded silver, meant to approximate the very highest grade of the presentation watches in 18K gold) and the real thing!

I just collect a particular line of action figures. But my investment has already tripled in value over the past 2 years.

Marvel Legends.

He has some, he is between a collector and still playing with them. He knows them well, goes online to youtube pages to find out about them, but he poses all of them, I have gotten him various stands and things so he can make displays, takes videos of displays, etc. I try and pay attention, but not really my thing, but he spends his chore money on a action figure a month and birthdays and Chanukah. I should ask him which he has, I know he has Venom for example, but a think he has a few of that line.

I got into them a few years ago, bought a lot of old ones. I normally buy 2 of each, one to pose, one to keep in box. They honestly don't lose much value out of box either.

Most of the waves I bought 2-3 years ago for $150 are selling for around $400 a wave. I really should cash them in and buy a new car, but hard knowing it'd cost me at least that to get them back.

I collect LeBron/cavs memorabilia, including an unopened set set of the LeBrons (this isn't me selling them, but this is what I have https://www.ebay.com/itm/282442143798) and the 2016 championship 3 foot LeBorn and Kyrie bobbleheads (which are opened).

I also have been collecting VR headsets because I always want the latest (Valve Index and Oculus Quest 2).

It's a tossup if the first collection will gain more value than the second one loses.

This reminds me of all the GI Joes that my mom stashed in the attic. Those rubber bands did not hold up, and their legs all detached from their bodies. I was so pissed.

What an amazing piece. I obsess over wrist watches (although my collection is very budget and only starting), but never really looked into the pocket watch side of things.

I read russian so I had to look into it a little bit. Says on your piece "supplier of the court of his majesty" which is apparently a unique title only the very best suppliers, manufacturers, artists etc received. Not the company, but it's owner, so when there was an owner change the new person and to achieve it anew. What a heritage for Pavel Bure watches.

Very new parts of history for me, thanks for sharing! Im going to look at some Pave Bure pieces now too, russian watchmaking is so rich with quality and heritage.

Do you have any other russian pieces? Wristwatches maybe?
