Do Not Sell My Personal Information
@Sebastian you sent me down a long rabbithole of watch videos. I'll be saving up my pennies for next year and I'll throw down on a Tudor submariner or an Omega De Ville.
Tudor is a great value.

The Black Bays, as the successor to the Submariner, are great watches. I aim to get another next year. Probably a black dial Black Bay, and then having custom gem bezels made for it.

My next watch will be a vintage Tudor Submariner in blue.

Up until 1999, Tudor was using Rolex cases and bracelets with an off the shelf ETA movement. So it was essentially a Rolex Submariner with a different movement. They were marketed as being a bit less expensive with the same high quality.

They were the favored watches of military men, and even issued by several NATO navies. Back in the 60s-70s, Rolex, Omega and other high-end Swiss brands were the most reliable and accurate time-pieces and guys could buy them at a discount at the PX/BX. Special Forces loved them for durability and accuracy. Important for combat conditions and timing airstrikes or indirect.

The Tudors are somewhat harder to find than Rolex Submariners, though they too have been caught up in the insane price spikes of late. They are considered equivalent, though, as I said, the Tudor is more collectable.

With Rolex becoming a pure luxury brand, Tudor is back-filling the role Rolex once held prior to the 2000s as a tool watch maker. Tools for soldiers, divers, boat racers etc. Tudor was once considered just a discount Rolex, but they are now building a great reputation of their own with great in-house movements, high quality and watches for people who actually use them for something other than fitting in or bragging.

Somewhat along the same lines, I would pay good money for a 90s pair of Vancouver Grizzlies or Toronto Raptors boxer briefs. Not sure why the nba hasn't jumped on this as the men's underwear bracket is adding more designs and stuff every day.
Like briefs that look like NBA shorts?

This is actually in the works. The NBA partnered with a company named Ethika: https://store.nba.com/sleepwear-and...boxers/d-1261176582-2394060952+z-9-3290593885

Also, Stance, who does the NBA socks, has started doing it as well: https://www.stance.com/mens-underwear/?prefn1=league&prefv1=NBA

I need to buy the Kings one because it says "Sactown".

Speaking of NBA shorts though, the Just Don Mitchell and Ness NBA shorts are amazing but stupid expensive for shorts:

I'm actually tempted to buy a rep because they're all sold out and I don't want to spend 650 on the after market for them.

Yeah, the Just Don’s are crazy expensive. Haven’t bought a pair but have considered it. For the most part I stick to authentic/team issued shorts. eBay is great for finding cheap team gear sometimes. I swear there are disgruntled former players/equipment managers just posting whatever they can lol

@SalvadoranCavsfan, Sunday I learned that Regatta watches are perfect for BBQ.

The dots change on the minute, blue, then red, then back to black is 15 minutes, and on a glance you can tell how long meat has been on the grill. It makes things immensely easier.

Man that watch is gorgeous. I hope I'm sterile so I can spend money on watches instead of kids.

There's an app for that!
It takes more time to pull up the app with greasy fingers.

And also, apps are for children!

I got it for a helluva deal.

40% below current value.

It is titanium so it is very light.

On another note I'm looking at the Tudor black bay bronze and they actually have bronze on the watches and one of the selling points is that the bronze will get its own unique patina with age but is that something you'd personally want? I feel like I'd keep that shit polished.

That is interesting. I am not sure what I would do.

Some people really like the patina. Like it gives the watch character. I am not sure. But it is an interesting point of view.

Here is an article on it: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-patina-diaries-living-with-the-tudor-black-bay-bronze
