Agreed. He is almost 21. If he aint great by now get rid rid of him. Garland i would give to the beginning of his second season no improvement dump him
Windler injury prone. Not worth seeing if he has game
Suns should have given Josh jackson and Chriss more time !

Gotta think we are the only fan base in the league who's team generally stinks but still wants to cast off young, viable NBA players.

Sexton is a top 50 scorer, both per game and on a per 36 basis. The only guys on that list, 21 or younger:

Luka, Trae, Collin, Tatum.

He's not a perfect player but even with his flaws, no good organization is trading a 20/21 year old doing that. Not unless it is an offer you cannot say no to.

Give a coach like JB, who is a renowned player development guy, time to work with him for at least a year here. Collin is coachable, he plays hard, he has improved dramatically, he's on a rookie scale deal.....don't understand why people are so ready to show him the door.

I think the "on court practice" for the offense has been really tough. They have played some really good defensive teams. It's easy to say "move the ball", but when everyone else is turning it over, what is a guy who can score like Sexton can supposed to do? He has tried putting the team on his back in these past few games. It worked against the Knicks the first time, but he can't do it alone.

I do wish he could stick to the offense more and keep the ball moving, but it is hard to be patient when your team is bleeding points and your pg is struggling, and your bigs aren't playing like allstars like they did the first few games.

Because Garland is the new flavor of the month even though he hasn't really shown anything yet at the NBA or even college level. Collin was the higher rated prospect even in HS/AAU.

Is this the same crowd that wanted the cavs to stick with Waiters for all eternity

Well we need to see more from Garland before moving on from Collin who is a flat out dog competitor. If you trade him away and Garland busts that is a worst case scenario unless somehow that pick is better than Collin.

Collin:

has the better turnover ratio
Shot is uglier, but goes in more often
Can finish at the rim
has a floater that is useful
Draws fouls
Can defend larger players
IS faster, stronger, and more explosive
Has more length
More durable
More aggressive

He's the better player right now. That may not be true forever, but giving up on the guy who has improved significantly since being drafted seems really foolish. Even if they can't start together, you have a role for a bench scorer opening up in a couple months most likely.

The main reason you don't move on from Collin now is that with his durability and work ethic, odds are pretty good he will be worth more in a year. I think the worst case scenario for Collin provided he doesn't have any significant injuries is that we could package him maybe with picks for a star player once Garland shows more. We aren't ready to that in any case right now. At earliest something like that happens next year.

Don't get me wrong, I like Garland and I think he is getting closer to breaking out, but it may not even happen all year.

The only way moving on Sexton fails is if he turns into a good player, I don’t see that happening personal opinion yes and I’ll back my opinion in as I feel I have a decent record (not perfect of course, but certainly better than what I call the ‘Dion apologists’) I’ve never rated him as highly as some do here, obviously. He’s not a pg, he has no feel for the game. Garland has nothing to do with it other than they probably won’t fit together long term, but it’s like saying we should have kept Waiters if Kyrie was a bust because we need a young guard despite in that scenario neither would be the answer.

Granted I do think Sexton is a better player than Waiters, but that doesn’t really mean much
