Has a lot to do with the fact that Beilein is no longer coaching as well.
Just a lot more cutting and emphasize on players strengths.
Beilein was so, so bad.

The thing I don't understand Beilein was famous for cuts and etc in college but he rarely used it...Hell,I think the reason,why Windler was drafted because he can shoot the three ball and do backdoor cuts.

I don't care what he was famous for. He underperformed heavily for whatever reason.
It's not even a Blatt situation where we won a championship but the play was not even better despite the locker room being "happier". The difference in play of the team without Beilein is staggering.
The amount of points Sexton scored off of cuts under Bickerstaff is more than he scored since he came to the NBA.

OK so on 92.3 they just said before the all star break Sexton was averaging 37 passes per game,,,since the all star break he's averaging 47 passes per game.
Sky is the limit for this kid now,,they could keep Garland on the bench the rest of the year. The team is playing way better.

Garland should be off the bench. No reason not to start delly the way he is playing. Maybe cut his minutes with garland able to play again
But delly insures we dont start game down 15 in first qtr.

This is sextons second year plus he played a whole college season. This is garlands first rodeo. No need to rush him

Hard to deny Beilein's ineptitude at this point. I think he was just focused on the wrong things and tried to dictate. Game was too fast for him, which was one of the knocks on Blatt as well.

Not doing an assistant job is a bad move.

If Sexton can really become a primary scoring option - something that looks likely sooner than later - this team will transform. Guys like Love and Drummond will suddenly have more offensive value, there will be less transition opportunities for our opponents, and Garland can really focus on developing on the bench.

In fact, if he just maintains his offense from last night on most nights, I think his advanced metrics will quickly show him as a positive player. Independent of improving stats on his end, teammates will improve, and this is enormous.

I’m just really looking forward to it. Should be a fun ride over the next few seasons, especially if KPJ continues to develop.

I hope they can develop some continuity with the coaching staff now and allow the you kids to grow. It looks like they possibly wasted an offseason, camp and first half of the year of Sexton’s development with Beilein.
Now they can continue to cultivatethe young talent (Sexton, Porter and Garland), while adding another lottery talent this offseason, as well as the injured pieces from this year.
I would love this team to complete for the 8 spot next year. With the veteran talent and expected growth it should be possible.

Capela not playing does have an impact, but I still dont think Heurter next to Trae will work. The Hawks need Reddish & Hunter to become stud defenders and knock down shooters.
