The amazing thing about Collin is he keeps adding more and more facets to his game. I used to think he couldn’t be a good enough shooter, or passer, or get overmatched defensively. But he keeps methodically striking down his weaknesses until they no longer are weaknesses anymore and actually can be strengths.

I no longer think he has a ceiling. It’s not just a couple good games, he’s balling out on a nightly basis. Star player for sure.

Sexton had an off night and scored 25 with 9 assists. In a 12 point win against the East favorite.

They shouldn't be the east favorite. They can't stop anybody and they have good isolation players but nothing resembling a cohesive offensive concept. They'll improve but I still think they should try to trade Kyrie if he's worth anything.

SGA is really good. Sexton is balling, but that debate isn't settled.

One thing is the Cavs would never find this current culture without Sexton. It was his hard work that they recognize could be the bases for this culture. I'm not even sure they realized these traits until recently. We kept hearing Sexton needed to find hobbies for his first two seasons and someone how that never gets brought up anymore since they saw those same traits in Okoro.

I think the way to settle the debate is that they're both absolute studs and both would have made fine picks at #8. I do think this particular Cavs team is better off with Sexton's simply elite scoring traits. Shai's size would be nice on the defensive end and I like his all around game...offensively I like Garland fitting better with Sexton, defensively probably Shai. But Shai didn't even want to be here and Sexton loves it here. Also, I love having an emotional leader/competitor like Sexton. For closing tight games, I'd take Collin all day. He's simply unstoppable.

I think both were great picks and I don't think the Cavs will ever have to regret taking Sexton there instead of Shai. No shade towards SGA tho. He is also a stud.

Come playoff time they'll look like the favorites. They'll pick up a few ring chasers and learn how to play with each other. I don't think anyone other than Philly can hang with them in the East, and Embiid would have to score 40 a night to get that done.

Now you're probably right that they could be better if they trade Irving and balance the roster better, but they're not going to do that.

A couple of us saw this systematic way of developing himself in his rookie season. You could see him even constantly making adjustments in game from quarter to quarter.

The what if for the organization for me might be what if they believed in Sexton after his rookie season. How much would that have changed the 2019 draft.

I'll believe it when I see it. But they're very thin depth wise, they have awful bigs, their playmakers dribble the air out of the ball and they pass to get assists, not to create good offensive motion. Durant is obviously still an MVP level player probably, and that makes them competitive automatically...but they have some glaring flaws that I doubt buyout guys will solve.

I still think they take Garland. Looking at the draft, still think he's BPA or close to it at 5. Maybe you can argue Herro..but the Cavs liked him too and did try to get Miami's pick to take him. But I like Colin having another guard out there that is maybe a better natural floor general. Cavs would have likely traded down to take Herro and another guy. But ultimately I'm fine with the Sexton/Garland backcourt. I think Portland's biggest issue was not getting good enough 2 way wings or bigs to put around CJ and Dame. I think the Cavs are already off to a much better start in that direction too.

Not sure, but A: I still really good about Garland who is not even 82 games into his NBA career and B: who would you even definitely say would have been a better pick than Garland IF you presume that the Cavs being totally sold on Colin after his rookie year would have resulted in them not taking a PG in 2019.
