He's not as good as Mitchell though. That's the issue. The team will likely trade him for a shit package because they don't want to max him then Collin will end up on a deal with 16 to 18 Million per year on another team because if he eventually hits FA that's what his market will likely be. He's a scorer with no defense. No one will max him but he's worth more then the 13 Million Per Utah just paid Clarkson.

No I pass on this esp if they draft Mobley. I like Bridges as an athletic PF type but Cavs need more of a SF/Wing. Bridges is also in the same contract situation as Sexton and will need an extension.

I don't believe the Hornets are the least bit interested in trading Bridges though. They just sent him to represent them at the lottery and he seems to have a good chemistry with Ball.

With that said the Cavs already need to pay Allen. Not sure they would trade Sexton for yet another guy in the same situation that also needs to get paid.

If they draft Mobley I'm going to guess it will be Nance that gets dealt for a SF/Wing...It really sucks one of these guys will get traded but they need to do something to balance the roster.

Yeah, they've got cap space and No. 11 to trade to try to get a center. Plus, I think Mitchell Robinson is pretty meh. If he could get No. 11 on his own, then the Cavs and Knicks could start talking again.

The stats say Sexton is basically just as good of a scorer, with even better efficiency. I think D Mitchell is a very appropriate comparison.

I have one that doesn't get discussed nearly as much as Mitchell which is Jamal Murray. The same guy who is 6'3 and signed for 5/160. Let me ask you who you would choose from ages 19-22:

Player A: 20.2 PPG/3.4 assists/3 Reb/45.8% FG%/38.5% 3PT%/15.2 PER

Player B: 17.7 PPG/4.3 assists/4 Reb/44.7% FG%/36.5% 3PT%/16.5 PER

This year, when Collin was 22 and Murray was 23, Collin averaged more points (24.3 to 21.2) , on almost identical shoot% (47.7 to 47.5), assists (4.8 to 4.4), rebounds (4.0 to 3.1), steals and blocks, PER 18.3 to 18.0, with comparable defensive advanced stats.

The main differences are Collin drives more and Jamal shoots more threes. Jamal plays better defense, but plays on a way better team with the best player in the NBA and one of the best defensive centers in the league to make up for his lapses.

Also, player B above signed a 5 year-158 million dollar contract (32million a year) after putting up those numbers, and player A people propose shity trades for and think he's not worth 20 million a year.

I'm just pointing out that the two players in the league that Collin compares to statistical the closest are Donovan Mitchell and Jamal Murray and both make over 32 million a year. Both their teams have made deep runs into the postseason with a statistically similar player making over 30 million a year so it can work. I understand that those deep runs have warranted the contracts, but give Collin Gilbert or Joker and see how he does.

It's not you my brotha. The Sexton/Mitchell comp has been cyclical in this thread since the beginning of the season.

It's actually kind of impressive the way the comp keeps coming back to life. Each time I think we've refuted and can finally put the comp to death, I look in my rearview mirror and it's gaining ground on me again like the T2000 in his semi truck.

Nope, we definitely squashed that one like a bug after Collin got under his skin and he proceeded to drop fifty on us in late January.
