That video of Sexton + Barnes dominating is intriguing but also somewhat painful :chuckle:

Mobley was still the obvious/easy pick, don't get me wrong. I think he's going to be a star. But Sexton/Barnes both looking jacked and somehow having chemistry hurts the stomach

Personally, I am just worried about Mobley physically. He is a guy who could be hurt a lot, while Barnes is built like Brick shithouse. Strong and long with a wing body over willowy PF/C. Both guys are projects in different ways.

Watching Drummond blatantly push off someone, do a lame spin move then get the ball stolen by Sexton was satisfying (they called a foul but everyone knew it wasn't lol). Sexton and Barnes looked like they were having fun. Barnes timing on blocks either at the rim or on the three point line was insane.

Toronto Raptors rosters has like 9 wings and zero centers and we're the complete opposite lol. No wonder they wanted Allen badly.

If the Cavs and Raptors combined teams how far would their 12 best players go in the playoffs? Who would be their best 12?

If I'm the Cavs, I'm calling Toronto every day until I can pry a wing off of them. Preferably OG

The Raptors aren't going to deal OG. He's only 24, he's an excellent defender, and he's become a good three point shooter. You don't trade those guys unless it's for a superstar and the Raptors reportedly refused to include him the Leonard trade. That's how high they are on him.

And I am of the belief that by drafting Barnes, OG will become an asset to be moved rather than an untouchable. Before they drafted Barnes, I thought differently.

I actually did prefer Barnes, though I've got no complaints about Mobley. Both of those guys before the rest, though.

I think Siakam is the guy the Raptors have buyer's remorse on. They already explored his market over the summer. Moving either of them would be premature until Barnes demonstrates he can shoot in the NBA, IMO.

Siakam's contract ballooned but the Raptors are to blame for miscasting him as a first option + everyone kind of remembers that awful Celtics series.

Can the Cavs trade Garland to Toronto would it be enough to get Barnes ?
Sexton,Okoro,Markkanen,Mobley, Allen with Barnes as the 6th man could easily become a contender in a couple seasons with the offense running through Barnes and Mobley.
I'd give up Garland ,Kabengele and a the Houston 2nd for Barnes pretty quickly tbh but I doubt the Raps would do it without adding a first.

Can the worst three point shooting team in the NBA trade their best three point shooter for yet another non-shooter?

After having already traded Prince for Rubio?

How many times you want to see four defenders in the box?

I don't think we'd even win 20 games this season if we swapped Garland for Barnes.

and yet there are people advocating for trading for Ben Simmons smh
I would much rather have no spacing this season with Barnes and Sexton as the long term core than
no spacing at all with Simmons and his contract at the price of Sexton or Garland

No fucking way they trade a promising young NBA proven player for a rookie who's never logged a minute in an NBA game.

Barnes is not proven in the NBA but he is at minimum the same level of defender and passer as Ben Simmons for a miniscule amount of salary and Garland is overrated

Garland isn't overrated at all.
