I think and a lot of people agree that 4-10 are all in the same tier essentially. If we don't get 1 or 2 or more specifically Zion or Barrett, you trade down and pick up additional assets. It's fine to disagree, but I don't believe the Morant hype and I don't think there is a clear 3rd player in this draft. Trade down and get an extra pick and swing for the fences on one and take a quality player with the other.
Ja is the next Westbrook

Cool we will have 2 small tough pgs. You should have watched Collin tonight. He plays for a Murray State. If he isn't a JAG I will be surprised. Cam Payne was their last guy to get drafted

Great first 3 quarters, awful last quarter.. could have had over 30 but the refs were celtics fans

Good game from Sexton. I blame Drew for how he played in the last 5 minutes. He sat for 4:40 minutes and went cold. He sat only 1:30 in the first half and came back still playing well.

I just don't think he is a player that needs that much of a break between stints especially when he is playing well. They need to play around with how they rotate him in and out. I would just sit him for 2-3 minutes at a time.

Wouldn’t logic that that indicate that Steph Curry, Dame Lillard, and CJ McCollum would all be JAG’s as well?

I have no idea how Morant will turn out because I have not watched him play much or studied his skills, traits, or attributes, but I’m pretty certain that where he plays college doesn’t actually affect his future NBA success

LBJ always talked about the first game of a series as a feel out game.

Sexton’s first year of his career is a feel out year.
Well if there is no huge change in the way the organization is run you might have a feel out decade

yeah his school is a horrible reason to pass on him. Cavs are way too early in the rebuild to worry about passing up the best available player. Not saying he is or is not , but he deserves consideration outside of one. The team is in its infancy of developing an actual serious contending roster. Pick the player you like best regardless of position in June period!

That's why all 3 of them were drafted in the top 3 right? Those are extreme outliers. Not supposed to build your draft strategy around them.

Schedule matters competition matters. There are so many good wings in this draft I am not sure drafting another oh is a good move especially one so similar to the one we just got.

Sexton was top8 last year at a younger age when Morant wasn't on the radar. You don't think he would crack top 3 in this draft at a better school?

I'd trade that pick in a second if we got Morant

I haven't really watched Sexton play for about a month. Coming in and seeing him after a long break, there was a discernible improvement in the kid's approach to the game. He was facilitating, attacking the paint effectively, and calmly knocking down threes. IDK if he's playing that way with any consistency yet, but what I saw were pretty good signs.

He had been playing more passive than that. Seemed like he woke up last night a little. I don't see why he can't replicate this performance. He is specifically mentioning his weaknesses in interviews. He said he was having trouble finishing so he worked on it all week

His shot profile last night was exactly what you want, and he took 3's confidently. It was a 3 or a shot at the rim. Once he gets some benefit of the doubt on those drives to the rim, he is going to get a lot of foul calls.

Seriously Tatum got several calls that were not it, especially falling over his own feet. Collin gets knocked out of the air and no call on a regular basis. If he can keep finishing the way he did last night, he will start to get those calls and all his advanced stats start looking pretty good.

No idea why, but he was engaged last night, when he has looked passive lately. Maybe he has a little bit more of a green light with Rodney gone? I dunno, but even on D he was hustling.

Gotta get rid of the cancers. Cannot let them drag development down. I have a feeling that Hood's work ethic and attitude were not a help. I think we're fortunate that most others on the team are better in both regards. Didn't help that Hood was a black hole on both sides of the ball. Shame since the physical tools have always been there for Hood.

It's important to surround Sexton and all young guys coming in with hard working, positive teammates that create a positive team culture. Have to coaches that reinforce that and have a strong philosophy on defense and offense that any future rookies and veteran signings would fit into.

The Cavs need to be sure the coaching staff is properly set this offseason for that and that they and the FO are on the same page. If we truly want to develop talent, we need to develop it on both sides of the ball and be consistent.

Great thing is that Sexton is FAR from a lost cause. He has the tools to play D. He has the tools to shoot, to drive. I think he also does have the tools to develop into a decent passer in regards to assists. He's never going to lead the league, but I think a 5-6 average is something he is capable of down the road after an offseason or two of work.

Great point about surrounding him with solid citizens. It will also help z and cedi
I think we have that in tt love, delly and nwaba
Clarkson mostly because of his game has to go as did hill and jr

If Collin hits the weights this off season those shots at the rim will get there

Agree, I though I think Clarkson is a guy that cannot help us be a winner in the future, but may not necessarily be a negative in overall development.

With his numbers this year, I think he will have value on the trade market next year before the season and certainly at the trade deadline. Biggest negative is his terrible +/- on D. Though he was much better last year. Still not great, but enough to think his spark off the bench is worthwhile, especially if surrounded by some competent defenders.

TT is likely gone at some point next year. He keeps playing as he has this year and he'll have a lot of value as an ending deal for a playoff team. Clarkson not quite as much, though if that defense can go from atrocious to subpar, his value goes up.
