Fedor has some good stuff on Sexton in his column today:

[Sexton is a] bigger, more muscular third-year guard who still has a chip on his suddenly-massive shoulders after living in the weight room over the last six months.

Quoting a Cavs' source:

"We know more about him than the general public and the media so we probably overvalue him because of the intangibles and that stuff. But he’s poised for a monster third season. What more does he have to do? He was effecting winning in a positive way at the end there. He’s our hardest worker, cultural piece, engine. We’re all in on Collin Sexton. It’s fine if people don’t see it with him; they will."

Love that the team is so behind Sexton. I mean hard to not be, but still reassuring.

Collin is going to kill it. If you think about it, he has already done the hardest part of becoming a star. He draws the double regularly with his shot and his drive game. At this point he just has to be smarter. Defensively, and passing/knowing what to do when he does get doubled. The table is set for him to really hurt people with his offense. IF he can build his game around that ability to break the defense, he will be very good.

His leap this year was much more important than the one his year previously. Rookie year he figured out how to score in the NBA and pretty efficiently.

By the end of the year this past one he was actually playing a team game. His shot selection was very good, which was part of his efficiency, but he also started making much better decisions. Giving the ball up earlier when doubled, getting it to the big on the short roll. Both KPJ and Collin excelled at that after the coaching change and probably just had to do with running more pick and roll. Not playing to that was a big mistake from Beilein. I also liked that he was using the drive and kick more, sucking defenders in and getting it to the corners.

He looks pretty damn small to me on his instagram. I need to see it live.

I agree that he doesn't look particularly thicker in anything I've seen, BUT, speaking of his Instagram, there have actually been a few videos he's posted over the past few months where he looks like he's got significantly more bounce than he had before. I know it sounds kinda ridiculous and almost childish as though I'm thinking he just strapped on his jump soles and added a quick 6" to his vert, but there are a few dunks in his clips lately where he's absolutely floating, like shocking air for him.

Dime is excited to announce a revamp of its storied Cover with a new initiative dubbed ‘MyCover.’ The MyCover launch allows players to take control of their Cover opportunity by being fully vested in the process itself, through ideation, design, and execution. Along with social initiatives and a true magazine cover story, MyCover honors Dime’s past while taking the experience into the future.

The inaugural MyCover athlete is Cavaliers guard Collin Sexton. Sexton is entering Year 3 after being drafted eighth overall to Cleveland in the 2018 NBA Draft. The spiritual leader of the Cavs, Sexton is learning under vets like Tristan Thompson, Larry Nance Jr., and Kevin Love as Cleveland seeks to further its rebuild after LeBron James left for Los Angeles. Sexton’s tireless work ethic and commitment to getting better is only rivaled by his love for his family, who has shaped him as a player and a human being.

For his Cover, Sexton made it clear he wanted his parents right there with him, shooting at a court near his family home in Georgia.

“It felt good to be able to have complete control on what I can include on the cover as well as inside the magazine,” Sexton told Dime. “I am always expressing how much I love my family and how important my family is to me. We came from humble beginnings, therefore we will not take any of this for granted. Family matters.”

Through interviews with those closest to him, and a collaborative experience with Sexton and his family, the Cover and its corresponding story took shape over these past few weeks while Sexton was still quarantining and doing individual workouts. He has since joined the Cavaliers in Cleveland for their camp, as the remaining eight teams left out of the bubble ramp up their offseason.

Through detail-oriented sessions, it was clear Sexton had a lot to show the world about who he is as a person — while still operating under a show, don’t tell mindset for himself as a player.

“The process went well,” Sexton says. “I am very fortunate that my family and I are able to share a glimpse about us with the world. It was also fun to hear things about me from my family that I didn’t even remember. It was very informal, relaxed, and stress-free.”

Shoulders look like they got a bit bigger and a lot of muscle could have been core and legs...ya know the biggest muscles in the body.

But that's besides the point.....how tall were the brooms he was shooting over???

Thanks. brought up here that Collin endlessly works on film, and the Martin is sure that he is going to become a much better decionmaker/playmaker because that and defense is what Collin is focused on the most.
